Megalong Manor
Reviewed 5 July 2011

We stayed in the Windsor Suite for 5 days. The room was gorgeous, very clean, and the hosts provided everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The King size bed is great, the other rooms have Queen size I think. The Windsor Suite is at the back, so it was very quiet, we could sleep at any time of the day. It is a very short walk to Leura Mall, we parked the car and didn't use it for two days. Great gas heater heats the rooms really well. We weren't cold at any stage, and our stay was in the middle of winter. In the warmer weather you could use the little patio area, it's very private.

We're pretty fussy travellers, but we were 100% happy with our stay. Thanks David!

Room Tip: Go for the Windsor suite

We stayed in the Windsor suite for a weekend get-away. The room was large and very comfortable with all sorts of nice, thoughtful touches: There were books in the room, CDs, wireless internet and the fire was left on for us. The king sized bed is very comfortable. The self-serve breakfast suited us down to the ground - provisions were excellent and we could sleep till 10 without worrying about inconveniencing anyone.

The proprietors were very friendly without being at all intrusive.

The room was whisper quiet but one block from the restaurants and action on Leura Mall.

We will definitely be back (as soon as we can convince someone to take the kids again).

This review may have come too late... But, it has been on my mind for a while to give credit to David at Megalong Manor. We enjoyed the Wentworth Suite that we stayed when we were in for 8-9 Apr 10. It was really a fabulous suite with all things and comfort needed, perfectly at home and luxurious ! Thumbs up for the great charming decor and comfort !

Megalong Manor is a beautiful period home offering three suites - We stayed in the Windsor Suite which consisted of three rooms. One very large bathroom with separate large bath, bedroom with king sized really comfortable bed with doors opening out to small deck and garden and a seating area with gas fire, CD player, TV and small kitchenette. All very tastefully decorated. The rooms are very quiet and peaceful with everything you need if you want to relax 'at home' after your bushwalk. We spent saturday afternoon reading in front of our fire after a long walk that morning, listening to lovely CD's provided - you really feel as if you are in a home rather than a B & B bedroom. The hosts David & Kathy are lovely and Kathy provides home cooked treats every afternoon along with complimentary port. We had apple crumble one day and rhubarb friands the next day - straight from the oven. Whilst it is self catering breakfast, the breakfast provisions provided are ample for both breakfast and lunch. The location is superb, literally a two minute walk to Leura Mall (great shops, restaurants). Had dinner at Silk's - superb food and service. I really would like to keep this place to myself - but felt it wasn't fair to do that :) Would definitely recommend Megalong Manor to anyone wishing to spend a weekend in the Blue Mountains - we wished we could have stayed longer.
