Great atmosphere, very welcoming. Wait is a little long but food is truly amasing, the sauces were especially good.

Good lord.
Feb 14th, we booked a romantic dinner for two.
Starters took forever to come out though Madame was pleasant and amusing. Whilst waiting for our mains, there was the sound of increasing swearing and pot banging coming from the kitchen from the chef, her husband.
My coq au vin arrived and it was so salty I couldn't eat it. Sent it back.
New dish arrived ten minutes later, by which time, my partner's meal was cold. More banging and swearing.
Madame went to visit him in the kitchen and there was a massive row between them. Much shouting by both. The other customers started to talk amongst themselves whilst the others argued in the back.
Madam bought out dessert, and suddenly abut four massive dogs came bouncing through the door and marauded everyone with their slobber. Apparently they breed rotweilers or something in their back yard. :(

Unimpressed with the pissed Monsieur and the dogs, food was somewhat standard French fare and there are better ways to spend your money in Leura.
Choose wisely.

Having read through the reviews, we were prepared for whatever was to come our way and were not disappointed. French farce and excellent fare was ours to enjoy in large servings. The limited wine list was a bit of a let down, but the overall experience was the highlight of our dining out in Leura. A must if you are prepared to enjoy a leisurely, well cooked meal.

Consider this to be a visit to your French uncle and auntie. I can just imagine the previous reviewers being thrown out of the restaurant while husband (chef) and wife (maitre d') had a fight on Easter weekend! Our visit was not so dramatic, but the impatient "ding, ding, dings" from the kitchen says it all. Maitre d' is like your grandmother giving you advice on what you should eat and what papa feels like cooking tonight.
We had scallops, crab crepes, cherry duck and beef medallion. All perfectly cooked. The duck and the beef melts in your mouth. Presentation is nice and not over fancy. Perfect for an honest hearty authentic French provincial meal. By the end of the evening, Maitre d' was treating us like old friends.
Like the previous reviewers said, you have to be prepared to spend the whole evening there and to wait for your food. Throw in a little bit of French if you are able to. Make sure you and your friends have a sense of humor and you have a lot to catch up on. We were there from 8pm till 11:00pm. And - make sure you have a booking!
Wouldn't recommend this for a first date or romantic dinner. Not for a large group either - 2-6 people? Too many people will probably stress them out too much. We will visit again next time we are in the mountains.

If you enjoy dogs in the kitchen and dining room, a clearly drunk chef who smokes whilst he cooks your food and service that makes Basil Faulty look like a saint then Le Goblet is for you!
We were booked in at 7pm, had to beg the owner at 8.30 to finally take our order, ordered and we ate at 10.30pm.
The chef came into the dining room when we were finally served, plonked himself down at a table next to us to enjoy some cigarettes and a glass full of wine. Nasty!
It was such a strange experience!
But here is the catch..... The food is AMAZING! It might be the most expensive meal you will ever order, served my a stressed out waitress and cooked by a maniac but it is fantastic!
I would say..... Beware! You are in for a brilliant meal.... But a horrible night!
