A lovely restored old residence in an excellent location. Very quiet street. Bus to the city round the corner. Coogee down the hill. Our room was upstairs in the old house and was tastefully renovated with air con.

Clean and located in a prime spot in Randwick - no aircon (as fitting this would no doubt compromise the heritage and charm of the hotel), but ceiling fan is adequate for October - and windows do open (but don't stay opened). Courteous guy at reception. Guess I've been spoiled by some of the hotel rooms of late that I have stayed in..... But pleasant enough.

Room Tip: Room overlooking the park is quite nice - but if you have luggage, the top floor can be a long stret...

Have stayed here more than once. Very great location. Very comfortable, a bit of 'old world charm'. Very handy to many wonderful beaches. Large room, middle of range & not on street side, very very quiet. Sunday day manager, really courteous & polite, knows his job. He went out of his way to provide useful information about Sydney & local area. Great asset to this establishment. Transport also very good to many areas of this lovely city. Local eateries galore!

Excellent choice if visiting UNSW. Located on a quiet street but close to many restaurants as well as the University. Staff were very obliging. Room quite small and up stairs but comfortable for one person. Would stay there again.

We booked here at the last minute due to an unexpected Sydney trip during a weekend when a big rugby game was on, resulting in low vacancy rates. We chose the cheapest room and I think that based on that standard, 4 stars is a stretch. The room was clean enough but old, tired and cramped. The window rattled loudly so we had to jam something in it. The beds were quite uncomfortable. I think that a 3 star rating would be more suitable and would have given me more accurate expectations.

One of the days our room was not made up, perhaps due to us having the 'do not disturb sign' up for a 2 hour period mid morning (and no one returned later to clean it).

Apart from this - some positives. It's in a nice, quiet area, walking distance from some nice cafes. It's a short walk from a bus which takes you into the city. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. They were also happy to hold our luggage for us at the front desk us when we checked out. It is a lovely old building and has a nice garden courtyard.

A hotel located in a row of gorgeous old buildings, with character stained-glass and lovely ceilings. Although the room we stayed in was small and quaint, it was nice and quiet, right next to a lovely courtyard. A decent place, if not the most modern.

This hotel is situated in a lovely old row of two-storey terrace houses, opposite a park. Lovely stained glass in the entrance. I stayed in one of the garden rooms. It was a good size with a shower, TV, and small sink and microwave. Perfectly fine, although the decor could be upgraded - green carpet, lots of florals, just a bit on the tired side.

Two hours free wifi a day. Within easy walking distance of lots of cafes, supermarkets, shopping centres and buses. Good access to the airport and the city. I was attending a workshop at the University of New South Wales - the campus is about 10 minutes away on foot.

The service was low-key but helpful. I would stay again if I was attending something at the university as it was pleasant and convenient.
