Seabreeze Beach Hotel

"I know SWR , yet had never noticed that the" beach view" rooms at the front of this hotel have no balconies. What a waste of a beautiful position, overlooking Horseshoe Beach.
Slide back curtains & stand at the small window. Hotel very unloved. Noisy, which would bother some. SWR is beautiful location, sadly, not this hotel.

Room Tip: Don't bother with deluxe or beach view. Don't write off SWR. Cheaper & better to be foun...

Interesting there is no restaurant review for one of the larger dining venues in town!
Ordering the sensational seafood experience because I was hungry was in hindsight a mistake. It (is supposed to) comprises a range of seafood in a light batter. The batter wasn't that light and it was terribly overcooked to the point that all the seafood in the batter had turned to mush except the mussels which had gone more chewy than normal. I would normally expect battered mussels or scallops but I was willing to give them a go. Never again, they were destroyed! I was also disappointed with limited range of beers available. For the size of the pub you'd normally expect a better range and some more top end variety than the basics. If I go back again (our daughter has recently moved to town), I'll be seeking a safer option off the menu.

We were staying just 'down the road' from the Hotel and for our first night, decided to eat at the Pub as the weather was awful & it being just a quick walk away.. Selection was good, everyone in our group had no difficulty in finding something that they fancied. However one of our group does not eat 'chips' only 'wedges' or 'mash', & as her dish came with chips, the question was asked "could we swap chips for wedges or mash" - the reply was "no mash but can have wedges & must be ordered separately". So the meal arrived minus the chips & a serving of wedges that could have fed us all for the weekend. As a result about six wedges were eaten and the rest left. Apart from an awful 'waste' it seemed to be a bit silly!!!

Centrally located, this hotel is a gem.
The best part is the staff, who go out of their way to look after you.
The restaurant is open plan with a menu to cater for all tastes.
The food doesn't disappoint, with friendly and accommodating service to match.
It is only a short walk to the beach, and many local sights within a short distance.

Each time I go to the rocks to take travelling friends for a tour we have lunch at the Pub. Its the classic "order at the bar love" and the fish and chips is hard to fault with a crispy batter served to your table on the veranda watching the world go by with some local musician with a nice gravelly voice singing the songs you would expect. it was no trouble to cook for us quite late (2.30pm sunday) in the afternoon when most other cafes and clubs etc were closed. I suspect the fish is local it is usually snook when the Snook are on. the bar staff are friendly. Travellers who go past the rocks to Byron have missed one of the Gems , its where mid coast locals go for a weekend break.

Comfy beds, good food and fast service, the staff work with a sense of urgency, the room was overpriced for what was on offer, dirty mugs, grubby carpets and the bathroom was unforgivable! Grime and mould shadowed the tiles, the shower curtain was just as bad, I'd highly advise a room inspection to anyone considering staying there,

The Seabreeze restaurant excels at handling large numbers of restaurant guests' orders quickly and efficiently. The staff are friendly and fast moving, and the system of taking food orders separately to drinks orders work well. They don't just stick to the weekly menu but complement that with specials. I chose the Italian night chicken parmigana and received a large portion of hot, tasty food.
