It was good to have a restaurant in this country town open on a Tuesday night. Obviously a good move by the owners as nearly every other restaurant in town and the next were closed and they were doing quite a brisk trade.
Service was attentive and timing of our meals was good as well as we have found that past experience in country towns to be inattentive and very slow.
A variety of menu selections, good produce and presentation made our evenings meal a satisfying one.Only disappointment was that about 5-6 dishes on the menu were unavailable.
Nice views over the harbour enhanced our overall experience.
Wine variety was reasonable (no BYO) with wines a bit on the pricey side.
Worth a try.

First the location. It's at the very end of the first building you come to when entering the town from the Sydney side (the corner is occupied by the highly-visible yellow signs of the Raine & Horne real estate office). The restaurant literally overlooks the entire harbour, accentuated upstairs by floor-to-ceiling tinted windows and, in the case of upstairs, the glass continues upward as a kind of skylight. So, you're surrounded by see-through glass affording magnificent views of the yacht, cruiser and other maritime craft, plus the two breakwaters that gives the harbour the tranquillity and peace it enjoys, plus panoramic views also of the boat slip yards and the fishermen's co-operative. But you're there to enjoy the food as well, and it delivers in spades. Naturally the emphasis is on fish, but they have chicken and meat dishes as well, plus a degustation menu that is on the pricey side, as are most of the mains. For example, rack of lamb is a steep $39.00. However, it is open for lunch on Fridays and Saturdays, and for dinner Friday-Tuesday. We had a superb T-bone Fiorentino, served on a wooden platter with a gravy boat and perfectly crispy hand-cut chips, a luncheon special at $27.00, and worth every cent. It is licensed, not BYO, and the chardonnay we enjoyed was very reasonable (a 2008 Western Australia Margaret River Juniper at $32.00) and the service unobtrusive and oh-so-professional. It's the kind of place that is good for special occasions and the odd indulgence, or just because it's Friday. Go there with the new management, which changed the name from the better-known, and long-standing, "Harbourside". Vive la difference!

What can we say? We were a group of 4. We love our food and wine and we expect both to be of high quality wherever we eat. When visiting a restaurant, it should also be combined with great service and ambience. Ceto ticked all the boxes. The amazing view over Ulladulla Harbour was an added bonus. Certainly a great little surprise package in the heart of Ulladulla.

3/2/14 -Outstanding service, outstanding views, good ambience. From the moment we walked in the door this experience could not be faulted. The reception was warm and friendly yet professional and all orders were well timed. The food was absolutely perfect. For entrée I had the oysters which were fresh and the foam dressing was tasty but did not overpower the oysters (I generally like them natural). For main I had the special, Scotch fillet with lobster tails. It was cooked to perfection (medium-rare) and the paris mash was lovely. My husband's cattleman steak was also cooked to perfection as was his entrée of Birkshire porkbelly (This is the dish my husband ALWAYS orders from menus and we have had some exceptional ones over time. He gave this a 10/10).
A great venue overlooking the harbour and a great addition to the other handful of quality dining venues in the local area. We come to the area every year around this time and none of our other favourite restaurants are open on a Monday night. In the end I was glad about this as if they were then we would never have even known about this restaurant. It has been added to our favourites list and we will be back!

My girlfriend and I met up and had a fabulous dinner at Ceto! The service was great, so friendly and proper, the food was amazing and the view topped it all off! One of the best nights out in Ulladulla!
