“Busy, pleasant, easy.”
Reviewed 2 January 2013

Four of us went to this place mid December. Luckily we had booked! The place was packed but on our table was a welcome sign for our group from the Club. Once we all worked out how to get drinks, food etc we settled down outside under shade to just enjoy it all. There were large groups, families, couples - all celebrating upcoming Christmas festivities. We did have to wait for around an hour to get our meals but we had been told this and it is a pleasant place to just enjoy a drink while we chatted and waited. Food is fine and definitely fills a gap. It is not Five Star nor does it claim to be - just honest good grub! The staff and club folk were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our meals, we were able to sit for as long as we wished and just soak up the atmosphere. Good parking, and great views of Pumicestone Passage. It is a very popular place - locals and tourists alike were there.

“Regular haunt”
Reviewed 21 February 2012

We go here a lot as it is local and the food is always good. Run of the mill pub fair but it is always fresh and the nightly specials keep the menu fresh and interesting. The staff are very friendly.

“Not such good value now”
Reviewed 29 November 2011

Some of my comments from 2 years ago still stand. A lovely location - no doubt about it.

It's still a nuisance to pay (in cash) at the bar and to order food separately. But one can accept that.

Unfortunately, though the food does not offer as good value as it did. Crumbed fish portions look as though they're bought in as sizes are identical. And they're very dry indeed. Salads are unappetising. And the roast beef we had on one occasion was inedible. Such a shame.

We heard a rumour that there might be a new chef. I hope that means that he/she has yet to arrive as that could well bring improvements. It is due a new menu so fingers crossed.

Staff are still very friendly, although every time we booked a specific table we ended up with a different one. Oh well!

I sincerely hope that things improve as it is a restaurant so handy to where we stay in Golden Beach. And we do love that view of the Pumicestone Passage.

“Upon arrival we were sumwhat confused on...”
Reviewed 6 May 2010

Upon arrival we were sumwhat confused on where to order. After finding the order register we were greeted by the most lifeless employee who could not even properly explain the entree. We ordered a pizza bread and two medium cooked steaks and a chicken parmy. While waiting the 40minutes for our starter we ordered a jug of diet coke, and seriously, how hard to push the right button, however we got full sugar coke. Next the chicken parmy came out after waiting 35 minutes. Sill no starter mind you. 5 minutes later our pizza bread came out and then a further 5 minutes our two very fatty, tough and undercooked steaks came out. I just ate mine because I was starving but my partner sent hers back. They whacked the same piece back on the grill and charred the living daylights out of it. After everyone at the table finishing their meals they returned the steak. Now it was still fatty, even more tough and cooked well done... Very disappointing meal all round. Would not reccomend the place to my worst enemy... Save your money and enjoy a meal elsewhere...

“Good value and nice view over Golden Beach”
Reviewed 13 August 2009

This is part of the Power Boat Club in Golden Beach. The restaurant is separate from the club and offers good food. Downside is that you have to buy and pay for your wine or beer at the bar and take it to your table. You also have to order your good at the counter and pay for it, but each course is delivered to your table. The restaurant has bad acoustics and can be noisy when busy. But it's usually fine and has a lovely view of the water and the Pumicestone Passage. A varied menu that offers good value for money. If staying in Golden Beach it offers another alternative eating place.
