For a special anniversary we decided to visit a restaurant that offerred good quality steaks and picked Mooo Char because it had such an extensive list of steak combined with an excellent view.
From the moment we arrived the service was excellent. We were given a table at the window overlooking the Pumicestone Passage, despite the fact that we had not made a booking. Although there was a large family group nearby the restaurant was not noisy.
The staff were very able to help us determine the best steaks for our particular tastes from their extensive list and we were both pleased with our selection. I chose the eye fillet as I prefer a medium rare thick steak whereas my husband prefers a thinner, well done steak. We were both very pleased with our dishes, they were cooked exactly as ordered and they were good value as they came with a choice of sauce (the red wine jus was delicious), thick fries or mash and either coleslaw or seasonal vegetables.
For those who prefer something other than steak there were several choices - seafood, poultry, other meats and a vegetarian option. We did not have entrees or dessert as the meal itself was so filling.
There was also an extensive wine list with some interesting options in a varying price range. We were pleased to be able to order a good sparkling wine by the glass and followed this with an excellent red. The prices were reasonable for the wines offerred.
These were the best steaks we have had recently and the view is magnificent.
