The cafe is located at the front of the Gold Museum.
We stopped in the fabulous parking area, which has parking for cars with trailers, clean toilets and a good park - great stop anyway for a break when coming back from Rainbow Beach or any of the other holiday spots out that way.

We dropped in for morning tea, and found the young lady at the counter very pleasant and helpful, the food we ordered was excellent, reasonably priced and served with a smile.

if you are looking for a trendy hipster joint, then maybe this isn't for you - but you'd be missing out on a good food and great service.

We will be back.

We thought it would be nice to order a couple of hot drinks and sit by the lake in peace and quiet. When we ordered, we said we were after some hot drinks. The girl at the counter looked at us like we'd just asked for something unbelievable, and then said confused, "Hot drinks...?" We replied yes hot drinks, as in coffee... Then the penny dropped. Perhaps that was the first warning bell. We took our drinks down to the lake and discovered the Chai Latte was more like hot water. Absolutely no flavour at all, not even a hot milk taste. The Hot Chocolate was a little better but not by much. Could not recommend.

This café is attached to the Gold Mining Museum and is where you pay the entrance fee.
Friendly service .....main seating is in covered open terrace.

we went there think this will be nice.... we were greeted by someone who appeared to not know what to do. we ordered and it took forever to get our food. Then it tasted horrible.
we would not eat here again. The whole place needs a revamp of furniture lay out and staff members...

The lady was lovely, very nice. The shop was sparse. The cooked breakfast was probably the worst breakfast we've ever had; with mushrooms that tasted like they'd been cooked in old fat, tasteless cheap bacon, hard eggs, toast that was only toasted on one side with rancid butter and semi fried tomatoes. The coffee was fantastic though. We will never go again and we were so disappointed it put us off going in the museum.
