“Step back in time”

4 of us ate here several weeks ago. We were seated on the veranda and watched the lightening in the distance. My sister and I had the "seafood stew" a very generous portion, we were not disappointed. My advice would be to save yourself for the mains and dessert, leave the starters. Friendly staff, eager to please. A very pleasant evening thank you.

“Just lovely!”
Reviewed 1 September 2013

Recently we had our 4XD serviced in Gympie, not a place we often go to. Was so lucky to find Kingston house to have lunch. Great $17.50 lunch specials with a drink included, my partner had the pasta, lovely. I had lamb from the main menu, cooked beautifully. We shared the trio of ice cream, OMG & great value @ $12. Service was first class & so friendly. We were so impressed with this place that when we came back to pick up our 4XD two days later we had lunch there again

“Lovely place to eat”

The food and atmosphere is fantastic here. Hand-made pasta is a big plus as well. Not too formal that you need to dress up super fancy for it, but formal enough to impress.

“Worth it!”
Reviewed 17 July 2013 via mobile

We had a great dinner out here. The nicest spot for a special meal out in Gympie that we have found. We had the pork belly & some oysters for entree, great! Had the rib eye and seafood hot pot for main... Excellent! Service was great, we ate quite early 630 and mid week so wasn't overly busy. Staff were really friendly. Overall we are happy to pay a little more here than other places we have eaten out in town, it's worth it. We will definitely be back.

“Patience required”
Reviewed 5 July 2013

We had lunch at Kingston House today ...
the lunch special included a glass of wine although the waiter didn't ask if or what type of wine we might like with our meal ...
our meals arrived - chips cold-
eating lunch still no offer of drinks
we waved the waiter over and asked if we could substitute the 'wine' offer with peppermint tea and soft drink instead.
we waited a further 15 minutes for our drinks and asked a waitress if she could help us with our drinks as our meals were now finished.
the drinks finally arrived ... the tea pot had a bit of string dangling out and no tag, but the smell coming from the pot was not 'mintie' ... i tasted some of the tea and suspected it might be green tea. i again asked the waitress to investigate what this tea was and requested a peppermint tea... she returned some time later and informed us that the restaurant did not have any peppermint tea (this might explain why the tag was missing and the waiter was avoiding us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The lamest waiter ever ... no apology ...
OMG - never going back.
underwhelmed local
