Last year we did the tour that went to lake Mckenzie This time round we wanted to take the tour to the Maheno Shipwreck. The tour was great we got to see lake Birrabeen which I think is nicer then lake Mckenzie, We went to Eli Creek and Maheno Shipwreck. The lunch that the boys cooked up was really nice. we even got to see some of the wildlife. The drivers new there stuff and were able to tell you all about the history of the island. The only disappointment was that the window's hadn't been cleaned from the day before which made it hard to see out of them by the end of the day even so. This is still a terrific day out.

On a recent visit to Australia myself and two daughters took the Adventure tour to Fraser Island, it was wonderful. We did have a bumpy backseat ride for a while but it added to the fun. We enjoyed the energy of our tour guide "Rob" who gave us both interesting facts and humor to the experience.

My girlfriend and I knew we only had a day to fit in Fraser Island on our trip of the east coast and this was a great choice to take us ! it was a terrific trip and I enjoyed all of it....even the v long journey home (which seemed to go on forever)
Our guide was Casey , and he was excellent giving great information and generally just being a nice guy. This is a bumpy ride, you have to know that, but the experiences you see and the places you go are worth it all.
We had some great luck because the weather looked to be turning terrible, rain , wind but it passed just as we got to Lake Mackenzie for a dip. Perhaps being slightly out of season was good because it was not crowded and there was plenty of space. Other reviews are correct you don't get long in most places, but there is a lot to cover ! I think , with lunch included, we got a good two hours at the Lake. Which is ideal in a one day tour.
Lunch was pretty epic for a 4WD carried trip ...you get asked on ticket purchase what main course you wanted, steak , fish etc - We chose the fish and I watched our guy rock up the hot plates and individually cook all the main courses. It tasted terrific ! - other trips were not offering this hot plate option.
We had some great coffee breaks with breathtaking scenery in the day , and an excellent guided walk of the rain forest.
Fraser Island lived up to our expectations and this was a great company to pick to take us.
It is a very long day and you must be prepared for a lot of bus time, but you are still seeing Fraser, that's the point - you see as you drive - how else do you get there ?

I would not fancy tackling the terrain without the experts and this is the way to do it.

We undertook the Fraser Island Nature day tour with this company. We chose this over the Adventure Tour as it seems to offer a wider range of sights to see on the Island. We chose this tour company based on reviews, price and the fact that it specialized in small groups (16 or less). Our driver and tour guide, Rob, was a delight. He was entertaining and readily shared his wealth of information on the local area with us. It was a long but enjoyable day with swimming at Lake McKenzie and Eli Creek, and visits to the Pinnacles, Maheno shipwreck, sub-tropical rainforests, Teewah coloured sands and Eurong station. Highlights included the drive on 75 mile beach on Fraser Island, the ferry ride from Inskip point across Tin Can Bay to Hook Point on Fraser Island and the drive on 40 mile beach from Rainbow Beach to Noosa's North Shore past the amazing coloured sand cliffs. This company offered the convenience of pick ups and drop offs at Noosa (as well as Rainbow Beach) accommodation which suited us. It is a very long day though, with our pick up from our hotel at 5.50am and return at 5.30pm. The 4WD vehicle was designed for this sort of trip - but be prepared, the ride is incredibly bumpy in parts and the seatbelts are difficult to adjust and fail to prevent you being thrown about in the cabin. Try to stay away from the seats towards the back of the vehicle if you can, as these experience the most turbulence. Lunch was great with a large range of salads on offer, wine and soft drinks, and a choice of BBQ steak or fish (both options were good). Overall, an enjoyable day which represented reasonable value for money. Would recommend this tour and company to anyone who is staying in Rainbow Beach or Noosa and is interested in visiting Fraser Island but has limited time to do so.

Wow what an experience. The.day starts early at your front door and ends there 12 hours later. This is not an ordinary "sight seeing" drive but a full on trip, all made the better by Brice our knowledgeable and friendly guide/driver (he has actually lived on the Island).Off road for most of the day, swimming at Lake Mackenzie in crystal clear 10,000 year old water, watching Dingos eat their catch of fish , coffee breaks, BBQ and a walk in the quietest rain forest you can imagine. Then for me the highlight a dash to beat the tide along 250k of beach all the way back to Noosa inc a couple of Ferries. Glad my daughter talked me into going there specifically during my trip from the UK. Thanks guys for a truly memorable experience. Terry R
