“Don't go whilst the main chef is away”
Reviewed 15 March 2014

We visit Trinity Beach each year and always look forward to having dinner and breakfast at Lime Tree. This year however the owners and main chef were away and this really showed in the food and service. One waitress had a little too much attitude and charged us 2 dollars each for splitting the bill! Unheard of. The food was poor. Gnocchi was burnt and had what was supposed to be spinach but was inedible kale. The braised beef was awful. Couldn't get out of there quick enough and doubt we'd be back again.

“Every time”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

Every time I go to Cairns. I go to Lime Tree. Fresh ingredients, great staff and great location. It's usually my last day breaky before flying back to Brisbane. Service has always been spot on. Coffee well made and big enough portions to get me through to a late lunch at home.
Don't know when I'll be in Cairns again, but do know whenever that is I'll be visiting Lime Tree again.

“bad food with service to match”
Reviewed 26 February 2014

I attended this restaurant with a large group. We had 6 adults and 7 children but had not made a booking. The staff were good enough to move some tables to accommodate us, but that is where the pleasantries end. It took forever to order drinks, and even longer to get some glasses of water for each of us. The kids meals took an eternity to arrive, which was surprising considering they were not overly busy and the simplicity of the kids meals. The main meals were expensive, yet considering the standard expected for fresh local seafood we were happy to pay. Yet when it arrived we were extremely disappointed. Three of us ordered fish which was extremely dry and overcooked. To hide this, the fish was covered in a tomato based sauce that was overpowering and did nothing to complement the dish. We bought this to the attention of the staff who replied they would inform the kitchen. But we heard nothing...not an apology or explanation. I will not be visiting again and would not recommend this establishment. I only hope they were having a bad night and that our experience is not a regular occurrence of this place.

“Great meal”
Reviewed 24 February 2014

All four meals for our group were beautifully prepared. Lovely ambience for this restaurant. And again, staff were very attentive and friendly. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
