“The best place I've ever stayed on holiday”

The rest of the reviews on here are absolutely correct. Beachfront Apartments is fantastic in just about every way. Tghe location speaks for itself, and the service at the apartments was very good throughout our entire week long stay. Eddie's a great bloke and runs a good business. I'd thoroughly recommend staying here.

My wife and I stayed at the beachfront apartments for 6 nights for our honeymoon, and right from the start we were extremely pleased with the service. The manager Eddie, was extremely pleasant and super helpful with all our questions through out the whole stay. The apartment was superb. Extremely clean, and contained everything we could have imagined, from silverware to pots, pans, dishwasher, washing machine, flat screen TVs, and anything else you can want in an apartment. Our apartment was ocean view which I highly recommend, and had 2 bed rooms, large living space, full kitchen, and 2 bathrooms, also a very large ocean front balcony. The hotel itself contained a BBQ area which we found very useful, and 2 pools. There are a few very good restaurants within walking distance and a market that is about a 10 min walk. The designated swimming area is less then a 5 min walk on the beach with perfect blue sea through water. Overall I can't say enough good things about this property and HIGHLY recommend it to anybody looking to stay in Trinity Beach or around Cairns.

We have travelled to Far North Queensland a couple of times. First time in 1988 with three children, the youngest three months old. Port Douglas was just developing. Kuranda was, basically, the original markets. The Marina Marina opened during our stay. Next visit was in 2002 with our youngest, by then, a 14yo. Port Douglas had grown and so had the surrounding towns. We did some trips to Palm Cove and Cairns and also a day trip to Cape Tribulation as well as the reef. In July 2010, we both needed a short break without a lot of travelling from Melbourne involved. We are both in a fairly stressful occupation and while we have some overseas holidays, Australia - Queensland - is still the best destination.
The 3 hour flight to Cairns was ideal. A few days in Port Douglas to bring back some memories. We then drove to Cooktown, which was a long held ambition of mine, to stay for a couple of nights and to take in some history of Capt. James Cook as well as the remoteness of the area. Two further nights at Cape Tribulation to experience the rainforest and then to Trinity Beach for that long awaited rest. Trinity Beach was not my first choice. My wife has a friend who stays there every year or so with her family and she recommended Trinity Beach but at another resort. I did a bit of research and found Roydon / Beachfront Apartments with reviews only in the category of 'excellent' with one or two, from the usual bah-humbuggers, in the 'very good' category. All gave wonderful reports of the care and service provided by Eddie and Julie.
How right the reviews were. We booked into a 1 BR ocean view room. On arrival we were taken, by Eddie, to a 2 BR unit on the ground floor, opposite the beach. The unit had every possible facility and was spectacularly clean. We had the most enjoyable stay of 6 nights during which we went to Kuranda, now far more developed, Cairns, Green Island, and other areas within one day driving distance. I should add that for some time I have been in need of a hip replacement so a large part of our time was spent not on driving but on long, easy, walks along the beach. Julie, I am booked in for the THR on 17 December and I hope to take up your suggestion of coming to Trinity Beach Early next year for some R&R.
Trinity Beach is a jewel in the crown of Far North Queensland. There is nothing to compare with sitting at the corner bistro eating calamari and prawns, daytime or night.
The barbeque on the beach, right opposite our room, was also pretty good as was an afternoon at Yorkeys Beach Yacht Club. Trinity Beach is not your party town with bright lights and thumping music. It is a place to relax with safe swimming areas, very good restaurants and take away, and lots of walking, talking and enjoying each other's company.
I can only endorse the reviews of Roydon / Beachfront and the comments about Eddie and Julie.
Top of the list. Very, very highly recommended.

I cannot recommend these apartments highly enough. The beach is directly across the road with fantastic views day and night. There are lovely restaurants beside the complex and you can either dine-in or takeaway from. Eddie was a great help in arranging tours and also pick-up/drop-off to and from the airport which made life easier. The bus stop was directly beside the apartments for day trips to Cairns or up north.

My wife and I stayed in this apartments for 7 nights at the end of October. We booked one bedroom ocean view and they give us a free upgrade to two bedrooms on the second floor (there are three floors in total). Eddie the manager was as great as we though by reading other reviews. We met his wife Julie only once, and give us a very good impression too. Looks like she's doing hard working around (probably cleaning and looking after other things).

FIRST IMPRESSION: The apartment is very spacious, bright and decorated in a typical resort style. There are so many things inside that you can actually live in there for a whole year without feeling in a vacationer place. They provide a booklet with information about the apartments and activities that I really recommend to read. It contains even the menus of the restaurants around. I also recommend to take your time to take a look to the place, as there are many cabinets with all kind of tools and commodities (I was discovering new things every day).

CLEANLINESS: The place is very clean, and the first day it had some smell from cleaning products (that may bother someone, but for us feels like everything is clean). If you take a deep look, you may find some dust accumulated in places difficult to access (like behind the air con units or in between the plaiting in the bed frame), but other than that, everything feels very clean (including inside the cabinets, kitchen tools, dishes, beddings, etc.).

LIVING ROOM: The living room is very spacious, bright and with plenty of places to seat. There are three quiet fans in the ceiling with adjustable speed, plus air conditioner. They recently upgrade the TV to a large plasma one, and there are also a DVD player and a sound system that can play radio, tapes and CDs. There is a nice view of the beach as in the front is all glass doors and windows. The balcony have a table, chairs and a sun lounger.

KITCHEN: The kitchen is open to the living room, very spacious and full of cabinets and Kitchenware, kitchen tools, dishes etc. There is also an "island" with more space and cabinets. There are a full size oven, four ceramic hobs, microwave and dishwasher. There are so many things in the cabinets that I cannot mention all of them. If you are used to cook, you will probably miss your tools from home. However, the ones at this apartment get the job done, and is difficult to thing about anything missing. On the other side, we found many tools we don't have at home and even some we never heard about before (like an electrical mug warmer). "Courtesy" dish-washing liquid and dishwasher detergent are provided. We only miss salt and pepper.

BATHROOMS: The small bathroom (my favorite) looks very modern and has a shower, handbasin and toilet. The big bathroom is also modern and has a bath, handbasin, toilet and also exposed washing machine, dryer and the boiler for the hot water, that will look better if hidden, but not complains here. "Courtesy" soaps, shampoo and hair conditioner are provided, as well as detergent for the washing machine.

BEDROOMS: The bedrooms are a very comfortable size, with an small plasma TV, alarm/radio, air-conditioner, ceiling fan with speed control, generous size cabinets (with plenty of hangers), and we even found an electronic safe. The beddings are good quality, and the mattress firm and comfortable. They're facing the garden area, so it's quiet. We had a very good quality sleep.

NOISE: The place is just in front of the beach, so much of the noise is coming from the waves (we love it), or from the tropical birds. There is a big tavern just next door and we never heard any noise from them. There is a small road passing in between the apartments and the beach, with a parking area in the front of the apartments, were cars need to drive very slow, so is usually very quiet. During the weekends we hear some noisy cars or motorbikes passing, or some people talking a little bit loudly (probably clients of the tavern), but not very often. There is a playground for kids almost in front of the hotel that can be noisy during the weekends. Occasionally we hear dogs barking. Anyway, over whole all normal noises and in general quiet and pleasant.

The bedrooms are all facing to the garden area, that is much more quiet. If you like the sound of the waves, you can leave the balcony and bedroom doors open (only with the mosquito netting) and sounds almost like you're in the balcony. If you close all doors, you will barely hear anything at all.

The insulation of the apartments is very good, as we barely hear anything from the neighbors, even when they were playing the TV a little bit loudly.

SWIMMING POOL: They have a small swimming pool, and you can even use the one in the adjacent Roydon Apartments. However, we never used any of them, as we were very happy to swim in the beach.

PARKING: They provide cover parking and even a place to wash your car if you need to, including some extra detergent and an sponge.

STAFF: We were dealing with Eddie all the time, and he was very helpful. He provided us with extra cleaning products when we asked. He also gives as recommendations about places to go when we asked, and booked activities/tours for us. Eddie and Julie are taking care as well of the adjacent Roydon apartments. Usually, you can find Eddie at the Roydon office, just ten meters distance for the beachfront one.

BEACH: Trinity beach is fantastic, very long and clean. It's not very deep, so it's feels like we were in a more private and cozy one. It's quiet, and we have never seen more than one hundred people at once in the whole beach (and it's around one kilometer long). There is an area of the beach with a protective net inside the water, to avoid marine stingers (that usually appears in the summer). The water is very clean as well.

LOCATION: We found the location of these apartments very convenient. We were moving around by car and most of the time we wanted to travel north, so we saved time. There are also many places to visit between Cairns and Trinity beach. Cairns is close enough (about 15 minutes by car), and there are also buses every half hour during the week (and I believe every hour during the weekend). The bus stop is just around the corner.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Great value for money. You may find more luxurious places around, but probably paying double price. These apartments are spacious, very well maintained, and have almost everything you may need. Feels quite luxurious as well. As this is not a hotel, they clean the apartments once per week, that is very reasonable. There are plenty of tools for cleaning as well. It will be nice if they provide more cleaning products (for the floor, bathroom etc.), but I'm pretty sure they will if somebody ask for it. Eddie and Julie they are there to help for anything you need. So if we come back to Cairns, we'll be staying at the same place.

We stayed at the Roydon Beachfront Apartments for 5 nights in late September. The two-bedroom/two-bathroom apartment was very large and well maintained. The view of the Coral Sea from our balcony was amazing. There are 3 wonderful restaurants with fabulous food a few steps from the facility. Eddie was very helpful arranging our tours (see other reviews). If you want a nice & restful stay in the Cairns area and don’t want all the noise, confusion & crowds of Cairns, stay here. It is worth every penny. We noticed people of all ages - families, young couples and older empty nesters. Your lodging is steps from the ocean and a pool. We loved every minute of our stay!

Apartment style accomodation overlooking Trinity Beach. Central to local restaurants and pubs. Large, high quality, very comfortable accomodation with fully equipped kitchen and in-unit landry facilities. Friendly but not intrusive service. I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for a low-key, relaxing location on Trinity Beach.
