We stayed here for 2 nights and were very comfortable. The rooms are very large, and were very clean with everything provided. Only negatives were that we had some workers staying in the next room to us on the first night, and they were quite noisy as they were outside talking and smoking. Also, the apartment smelt of vanilla, because they had one of those smelly things you plug into a power point. It was over-powering on entry and it took us awhile to work out where the smell was coming from. Once we discovered it, we unplugged it, and it was fine from then on. Very comfortable bed with electric blanket, digital TV and free wireless internet. Some of the decor is a little dated and needs replacing, but overall we were very happy with the accommodation.

Very nice accomodation with everything you would need for a weekend away or longer the kitchen had everything you would need, all very clean and good standard too! Rooms we nice very quaint and clean. Had eletric blankets on bed if needed in cooler weather. All linen and towels supplied also.
All aspects we above average was very homely actually.
Would recommend to anyone and personally would stay there again.

Room Tip: All apartments would be the same I would think.

We stayed here for two nights in a two bedroom apartment.

The unit was a little dated, but it actually added to the 'charm' of the place. There was something very homely about staying at the Acacia. On arrival there was milk, bread and chilled water in the fridge and a package of some breakfast cereals and spreads in the cupboard - a very nice touch.

The apartments also have a very nice swimming pool - great for swimming lengths or for keeping the kids happy.

If you stay in Kingscote make sure you go the pelican feeding at the wharf at 5 pm, and the penguin tour later in the evening is also definately worthwhile.

We had a comfortable 3 nights
We were treated well by Deirdre and we had lovely fresh eggs from her chooks.
She gave us help on planning where to go each day
The room was large and comfortable and bed nice and hard to our liking.
You need a car as it is a long walk into town - this did not worry us as we had a car

Room Tip: All rooms on ground level

We bought a package which included a free extra night if we travelled in winter and we extended our stay by one extra paid night as well. The apartment was spacious, clean and well appointed. There was plenty of crockery, cutlery and utensils as well as condiments, breakfast provisions, milk etc with no skimping. The rooms were not serviced during our stay which was fine as we could take our time getting ready if we chose, and on one day when the weather was terrible we stayed in most of the time without having to vacate for the housekeeping staff.
We used the indoor heated pool which was lovely after our day of travelling the island in cold, blustery conditions. There is also a spa which looked inviting but it was cold so we didn’t bother.
The complex is a little way out of town but the upside is that it is very quiet at night and the protection for vehicles is good.

Room Tip: Good access to all rooms at rear of complex

Booked a three day/four night package to Kangaroo Island and the accommodation part of the deal was at the Acacia Apartments in Kingscote. We were in Room #1, which is a two bedroom apartment (one queen bed in one bedroom and three single beds in the second bedroom).

Our stay was in winter, which meant the rooms were a little cold but there was a reverse cycle AC unit in the main living area that warmed the apartment and the electric blankets came in handy. The apartment has a full kitchen and we were provided with complimentary basic breakfast provisions for the first morning.

The apartments are close to the shore, but some distance from the main part of Kingscote. In summer it would be a nice walk to the centre of town. The kids enjoyed the large indoor (heated) pool.

My wife and I spent several days exploring Kangaroo Island. The first few nights we stayed on the west end but needed a place that was closer to the ferry terminal for our trip back to the mainland. We called Deidre on short notice and she was very welcoming. When we pulled up her dog was bouncing around and being friendly. Deidre was very helpful and talked to us like we'd know each other for years. She even called into town to the hotel and reserved us a table for "schnitzel night". We thought this was a joke but once we arrived and ordered and saw other groups of tourists get turned away we realized this is a big deal in Kingcote.

The rooms have all the amenities you would need to spend time on the island. The bathrooms are spacious, the kitchen stocked with things like milk and butter and tea. There is a tv and free movies from the front desk. Although we didn't use the pool house I did explore that and the surrounding grounds on the property and they are beautiful. It is quiet and peaceful and Diedre could not be a better host.
