Stayed for one night last week, on a car trip around Tassie. My Husband booked over the phone after google search for accommodation in the area. Look for one night it was fine but definitely in need of an update for the price paid. Basic room with a mismatch of styles which look as if something has been done every ten years or so! Definitely no atmosphere if staying more than one night.

Room Tip: Apparently has some renovated rooms, try to get one of these!

We stayed one night and the room was a very good value and conveniently located. The decor was quite dated and there was no air conditioning but it had a great view and was clean. We really appreciated the availability of a washer and dryer. We had dinner in the Settlers restaurant and had a very nice meal. I really enjoyed the duck sausages. The decor was very down home style with odd wood chairs that were rather uncomfortable.

Nice, comfortable, and very clean. TV a bit small, but then we weren't there to watch tele. Nice big bathroom and good shower. Bed was very comfortable. Think we must have been in one of the renovated rooms. Would stay there again.

Room Tip: W went for a Queen Room. Unfortunately, no view.

My Mum and I stayed in a very small, twin-bedded room, small bathroom, table and 2 chairs, TV, tea- and coffee-making facilities, plus a toaster. Our room had a lovely view to the Great Western Tiers which goes up to the central highlands plateau. The room was fine for a one-night stay. Very clean and well-equipped

Room Tip: Room 16 was the cheapest and the one we had

The rooms are small and dated but they are clean and tidy, parking outside your door, a great location to base yourself to go exploring, helpful friendly staff with a good knowledge of things well worth seeing and honest about what is just tourist hype and maybe not as great as advertised, their honesty is refreshing. If your looking for the Hilton.....keep driving but if your looking for great Tasmanian hospitality with no hype and bs and great service this is where you should stay, I based myself there for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it and enjoyed exploring the surrounding area, would definitely return

Situated on the highway about 1km out of town. The decor is a dated Federation colour scheme of burgundy and green and in Room 3 matched with a dark blue carpet and net curtains. You do not stay here for its sophisticated ambiance BUT it is clean and quite comfortable. And for $107 pn we had no real complaints except that the coffee supplied was International Roast - so take your own if you want a decent cup. The bed was comfortable and there wasn't too much highway noise. The bathroom is probably very chilly in winter and there was no extractor fan. The restaurant has fabulous views across to the Western Tiers and has a rustic theme going. The service was good and the food simple but tasty. Not for everyone but quite adequate for most.

My family and I (8 adults 4 children) booked 1 self contained unit, 1 family unit and 1 twin share budget room on 17 & 18 Nov 2013. The rooms were clean tidy with parking right at the door step. The self contained unit which was the only one in the motel was just great for our group. Sufficient plates and bowls and all cooking utensils were handy. The location is good as it is very near to town center. The gentleman at the reception was humorous and friendly and when we requested for an early breakfast as we wanted to leave early for Cradle Mountain, he sent the milk, bread, butter and jam the night before.

We would for sure recommend our friends to stay there.
