“A little piece of undiscovered heaven”
Reviewed 19 March 2012

I just returned from Apollo Bay Pisces Park where I spent 3 lovely nights. I was very very impressed with the accomodation and felt the need to share. We had a spotless little 'caravan' overlooking the ocean. Everything we needed to stay there comfortably was provided. The location is at the end of town, so lovely and quiet. They have great play areas for kids, yet the noise really was minimal. The price was comparable to other caravan parks I've stayed in in Australia however, I have stayed in some dumps for the same price. There truly isnt one negative thing I can say about this park. My stay was delightful and I think others would enjoy it as well.

Room Tip: We had a deluxe cabin, easily could sleep 5 people. We weren't disappointed with our "room...

Tieing down guy ropes on a concrete hard stand is never easy. But water and fuel drums do the job. Site is very very clean and well presented. It is sited approx 2km from town which makes for a bit of a hike but heh, we are on holiday so time is not an issue.
Like the facilities - TV lounge, games room, laundry, camp kitchen all in excellent state of repair.

We stayed 4 nights over the Aust Day long weekend in 2012, with 2 families of 4, on 2 unpowered camp sites. The location is extremely steep, and the sites are tesselated to give each site some level of flatness, so you dont roll out of your tent int the middle of the night.
Fantastic amenities at the park - a HUGE campers kitchen that is actually better equipped than my own kitchen at home - huge benchtop area's, 2 huge fridges with freezers, 2 ovens, gas cooktop, huge outdoor bbq, outdoor sinks, crockery, cutlery, pots pans etc, plasma flat screen and 5 tables for family dining. Adjacent to a 'pay to play' games room (video arcade and billards). Very good toilet block, good amount of showers and loos - large shower cubicles means your clothes dont get wet! And extremely clean too.
Great inground swimming pool with banana lounges and a kids play area. Reception only sells ice, so if you run out of Milk, it's a drive into town.
The beach opposite the park is one of the best along the Great Ocean Road - it's not patrolled, but it is a great sandy beach, shallow waters and great surf further out.
Approx 5 mins drive or 15 mins walk into town.
Very reasonable rates for a Big 4 - we paid $224 for 4 nights unpowered.

Room Tip: The unpowered sites, while a great location tot he amenities, are narrow and long, and not suited to...

The cabins are to die for, at least the best ones anyway. I have never seen anything so well equipped for a cabin. There is even an X-Box as standard in larger cabins. The view is unreal and directly overlooks Apollo Bay (the ocean Bay I mean, not the town) and to sit out on the verandah is a delight. Watch the time of year as there are not many warm months in Apollo Bay. It has it's own little seasons and can even be quite cool in summer. I was there in October and it was quite cold and yet everywhere else I went was quite hot. Staff extremely helpful and prices were quite reasonable. Fabulous forest drive around the waterfalls and Mait's Rest rainforest walk was very enjoyable. The main features of Great Ocean Road (12 Apostles etc.) are nearly 90kms away and one should stay in Peterborough and stay at least 2 days to see all that there is to see.

Room Tip: All cabins are fine bout the newer larger ones are superb, but a lot more expensive. Ask for ocean...

We stayed in the beach front 2 bedroom cabins, spa bath, large bathroom, full kitchen but needed more variety of cooking equipment if staying for a longer time. Modern and a fantastic view of the ocean and bay.

Was quite disappointed with this holiday park. We stayed in a cabin and it absolutely stank! There was a dead moth on one of the beds and some of the dishes were still dirty. The grater was rusty and all of the kitchen utensils needed major updating. I'm so glad I brought my own picnic set and ended up using that the whole time. I won't be staying at this park again. The accomodation was certainly not worth the price we paid. Next time I will stick to getting a holiday house in Apollo Bay, thought we would try something different which unfortunately put a damper on our holiday.

We've stayed at Pisces before on a powered caravan site. This time we decided to stay in a cabin instead. 3 of us stayed in a deluxe cabin which was reasonably priced and was big and modern enough for what we wanted. Beds were very comfy.

A small gripe. It seems a little strange to list prices on the website for 2 people (and charge more per person), when the cabin sleeps up to 5. Of course the fine print is below, but why not charge the same? As I said - a small gripe.

We love Apollo Bay and think Pisces is the pick of the Caravan Parks.
