“Lots of stairs!!”

The walking track to the falls is right near the carpark. Do take your time as coming back is pretty tiring if you're not used to the steps. Great view when you get to the bottom though.

“A nice walk (pretty steep downhill) to a pretty little falls”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014

Erskine Falls is approximately 15 km from Lorne. It is accessed by a narrow road that climbs into the hills, then descends sharply to a parking area. From there, damp stone steps lead you down 80 meters to a upper overlook and then 150 meters to the bottom of the falls. The falls are spring fed and run all through the year, and this constant moisture creates a mini-rainforst, with abundant ferns and other moisture-loving plants.

“Worth the detour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014

We were pleasantly surprised by Erskine falls. Access is great, just a couple of hundred metres to get to the viewing platform. Winter rains made for a pretty scene. Surprisingly the car park was full, on a cold winters day. Would suggest to avoid peak periods.

“Great Ocean Road”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014 via mobile

We started at Torquay and drove down. It's easy to follow and there are plenty of places to stop all along whether they are small towns or viewpoints or little roadside cafes. The main touristy sites get a little busy so it's hard to get photos without people in all the time. There are plenty of places to stop and get some fantastic photos. The places are all mentioned on road signs so keep your eyes peeled. The 12 Apostles are by far the busiest on the whole road for tourist spots but there are plenty of other beautiful sites that are less busy such as the Erskine Falls and the Loch and Gorge. We went on an overcast day and due to lack of time drove the whole road in a day. It is very easily done, it just requires a lot of driving and an early start. Summer months would be the best to visit to take advantage of nice weather and longer days. Book accommodation halfway through so you don't have to rush the sites. Otherwise, well worth a visit and head to the Grampians, the national park just west of the Ocean Road as it is equally if not even more beautiful.

“Worth the effort!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2014

Just a few KM out of town and definitely worth the trip. Take the longer walk down the steps as the view from the upper platform doesn't do the falls justice.
