After reading some of the reviews on tripadvisor i was a little hesitant to book at the Comfort inn, but can honestly say that we had a lovely stay. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was nothing amazing but clean and well kept. The location of the Hotel is fantastic, just a short walk from the main street and the beach.
I'd recommend the Comfort Inn and will be returning to stay in this place the next time i'm in Lorne

Our room was clean and the h/motel is in a very convenient location, just a few minutes walk from everything. There was a Victorian Junior Championships games (of life saving) at the Lorne beach so places were quite crowded. Maybe it was also because of that event, the room price was high. Otherwise it's quite unbelievable to charge over 150 euros per night for a modest motel room without breakfast.

Despite what I read in other reviews, the staff here were great. Both friendly and very accommodating to our requests- for that no issue at all. The rooms were also fine- clean and obviously updated. Lovely view of the beach and two minute walk to the shops and cafes. No issue there either. The hotel was just fine despite what i read in other reviews. The problem however was the exceptional noise coming from the live band at the adjacent pub, belting straight into the room. I don't understand why such a large pub has to have the stage and speakers outside in the beer garden literally right next to the rooms, or why the council would permit that when there are clearly better options, noting all the nearby residential accommodation. If you are looking for a quiet weekend away then choose another hotel, you won't get peace or quiet here!.

Booked a 2 bed apartment for 2 couples, arrived on a Saturday 4pm to check in and no rooms available because he the manager decided to send the cleaners home early for some reason.
So after he complained about having to clean the room himself he told us to come back in an hour , so we did and he had a 1 bed room cleaned instead of the 2 bed.
So he complained about having to get the 2 bed room cleaned.

Finally after about 2 and a half hours he finally had the room ready , tho still dirty and rundown looking. I think the beds were made of bricks.
Very untidy dirty room.
Also the ocean view is a rip off , you have to look over a dirty pub and some bushes and trees. Hardly a ocean view.

The managers attitude was awful.

Half a star motel

We came away here to de- stress for a couple of nights.
the bed was so uncomfortable we both had back ache in the morning!
We were already stressed from work so did not want to add more stress to our stay by complaining so the the next night we slept on the sofa bed head to toe, not enough room for us as we are both tall so yet another bad night....
There were no saucepans, can opener, knifes, collander, etc.....this was supposed to be a self catering apartment it was not posssible to make our own meals.....
Its called the lorne bay view and the view we had was of other apartments in front of us.
On leaving we complained about the beds and the lady on reception said that we could of asked her for saucepans as she has a stack of them in reception! seems like a strange place to keep them when there is no sign in the room saying this?
We paid 175 a night through flight centre and would definatley not stay there again.
terrible t.v reception...
internet was very expensive....13 dollars an hour. (we found a lovely cafe in town with free WI FI.
GOOD POINTS.

The staff and manager seemed friendly so no complaints there.
Good location.
Air con was good.
no other good points

Room Tip: we are regular visitors to lorne....we have since been to the best western.....its cheaper and COMFO...

My partner and i stayed here for 2 nights, the staff were lovely, the view was great (executive room) however you would want to stay in either room 101, 102, 103, or 104 any further rooms to the right and most of your view would be of the back of the pub, nice bathroom with spa bath and all you need for the weekend for a couple!

Its in a great location getting views and only being a 2 minute walk from the main street shops and beach. The only downside (not the hotels fault, which is a shame for them) but on a saturday night the pub has a dj on the deck outside about 3 metres from the balconys and the music went till nearly 2am! Then patrons filter out and make so much noise, then both saturday and sunday mornings a rubbish truck reverses down the alley between the balconys and the pub and collects all the pubs rubbish which woke us up both mornings so didnt get much sleep.

If your an early riser and dont really mind noise its in a great spot, but if you want abit of peace and rest you don't get much.

We travelled from Adelaide to Melbourne over a 2 week period staying at some magnificent places such as Robe, Port Fairy and of course Lorne. We had previously stayed here at the Comfort Inn and enjoyed our stay so we decided to once again. How things have changed in one year!
On arrival we were met at Reception by a lady who proceeded to tell us everything we couldn't do to the point of telling us two or three times that if we checked out late there would be a hefty fee. I would have rather have been met with a person who actually wanted us to enjoy our stay by actually making us feel 'welcome' rather than making us feel like we were intruding on them.
Well it didn't get any better. Our friends stayed in the apartment next door to reception and unfortunate it had clear glass doors. Once Reception had closed, many groups of people knocked on the door thinking it was part of Reception. It didn't help that on two occasions Reception closed at 7:30 instead of 8pm. I hope they were 100% full as on both nights 3 to 4 groups of people wanted a room for the night.
One poor gentleman who was travelling by himself locked himself out of his room at 7.40pm, there was no Reception, nor was there any after hours contact number. We tried helping him by calling the Comfort Inn head office who were also unhelpful and we even tried the Police without luck. Whilst helping him a couple arrived around 10pm, they couldn't speak English so I ended up showing them to their room (well I think it was anyway). By chance we found a set of ‘Master Keys” in the pot plant outside of Reception and were able to let our tourist friend into his room. Not long after a couple arrived and proceeded to retrieve the "master" keys from the pot plant. They were obviously friends of the owners/managers but none of the three families who witnessed this were impressed by having keys to the whole complex sitting around.
There were other issues like a missing fire extinguisher; fire hose reels broken etc which should a fire breakout, I fear the worst.
Essentially the owners have let this place run down and if you stay here you will be disappointed. Luckily we stayed at some other great places along the way.
Our feedback was given to Reception; we asked to speak to the Manager/s without luck and I’m sure they we deny aspects of the above but we have witnesses and even photo evidence of the keys and fire equipment issues..
