“Stunning views!”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

Easily accessible by taking a short turn off from the road to Erskine Falls. The walk from the car park to the lookout itself was not even five minutes which would certainly suit travellers of all ages. The views down to the water and around along the adjacent coast were just spectacular. Well worth finding!

A must see. An easy drive from centre of Lorne with uninterrupted views to the south over the ocean while hovering above the cold stream estuary below. Stunning!

“How did Teddy's Lookout get its name?”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

This place is worth taking the time to find. It is tucked up the back of Lorne and perfect for views and little loop walks (from a half to one hour). Sightings of koalas and wallabies are almost certain.

But, of course, everyone asks who was Teddy?

Exactly how this site got its name has been lost in time. Different accounts are given in the local histories. One is that it is named after Edward, son of Queen Victoria. Another is that it is named after a donkey who roamed up here early last century.

But a more recent claim is that this arrestingly beautiful place is named after Teddy Richards of the Sydney Swans who held the great Buddy Franklin to just three goals in the AFL 2012 Grand Final. The Swans beat Hawthorn by 10 points. Courageous Teddy played the entire game with torn ankle ligaments. Just days beforehand, he could hardly walk.

Such is the stuff of legends.

“Nice view and opportunity to see koalas.”
Reviewed 5 April 2014

The lookout is high on the mountain. Look up on the trees when you get there. You might see some koalas sitting on the trees. If you go a little further, you can enjoy a nice view over the mountains. There is not much to do. We just spent about 20 minutes there.
