“Well thought of and quiet retreat”
Reviewed 23 December 2013

This hotel is simple and nice, with an indoor pool (which is solar heated ... so wouldnt count on this being heated unless there have been a number of back to back sunny days). The hosts are very good and build a personal equation with guests. Cable TV gets you most free to air channels and a couple more.

Food options - there is a in-house restaurant, but if you are looking for more options, your best bet is Port Campbell town, around 14 kms away.

Just be aware that there is a gravel road for around 3 kms to reach there. Fairly good road, I hit 80Ks on the road, though I wouldn't advice going this fast - especially since the gravel will cause the tyre grip to quite patchy.

We stayed here for one night and were very pleased. The location was excellent as it is just down the road from the twelve apostles! The lady on reception was welcoming, and provided us with some great facts and information on kangaroos! Would recommend to stay here.

My wife and I were very impressed with the Motel / Retreat from the moment we drove through the gate ( only 3 km from the main Apostle observation / information area) ! Dianne showed us to our extremely comfortable motel room and explained what could be expected re the Dining Room and Services. Our one night turned into two because of the welcome and quality facilities!
Highly recommended!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 9 of the Motel, and were very impressed with the tranquillity and overall comfort...

Booked here on line as part of our holiday on the Gt Ocean Road. This is a simple, plain motel set, for us Poms anyway, right in the middle of the bush. with a warm welcome and all the needed facilities, all be it basic.
On arrival we were greeted by Di, the owner who was very worried that the other guests that evening were two motorcycle clubs from Melbourne: a total of 21 guests on 16 motorbikes. She was quite concerned that we would find it all too much.

The bikers were delightful: very sociable and highly entertaining. We all dined together, with my wife and I put on a seperate table. We were shown the local kangaroos , discussed astronomy, did some guided star gazing and drank a quantity of beer ( and wine) in their excellent company.

Can recommend this to any random Pom who wants to see real Australia - but cannot guarantee the company of the delightful bikers!

My husband and I stayed here in Nov for 3 days. It a beautiful and clam place to spend. Very close to the 12 apostles and the Loch Ard Gorge .
The owners Diane and her husband are wonderful people.
Would definitely go there again.

We booked on-line as it said it had net access. After we booked in, we find that the cabins have no access. The sheets on the bed were not pressed so it looked as if they hadn't been changed from the last tenants, the coils in the electric kettle were rusted out and flaking into the water, the cooking facilities consisted of a VERY small toaster oven, small microwave and a 2 burner hotplate that was in need of a scour. In reading their directory book, it told us to dial on the phone for any problems...the problem was...no phone. To give them their due however....the floors and walls were clean and tidy as well as their countertops and bathroom (except for the odor which I assume was septic). Although the unpaved road in was not a problem...knowing about it on the site may have changed our minds before booking there. It was definitely only an $80-90. a nite not a $115. a nite room

We had travelled from Sydney and this was our fourth stopover. What a disappointment.
Its close to the attraction of the apostles ,which is a bonus ,but about 3 klms of unsealed corrugated road have to be navigated to get to the motel.
On arrival we were greeted by friendly ,happy and helpful staff, given our key and directed to one of what can only be described as four free standing garages.
These were the cabins !
Inside the "kitchen" was a portable 2 burner electric hot plate, a mini portable oven that would be hard pressed to accomodate a pork chop a microwave and kettle and toaster.
The benchtop and kitchen cabinets could of been made by a first year apprentice carpenter as they were all timber and no laminate surface .
The bathroom had drain odours which we cleared by running the shower and sink taps and a few flushes of the toilet.
After all that ... the bed was comfortable and we enjoyed a much needed sleep.
Wireless internet was not available as the advert for this place suggested.
We will not be returning.
