The gardener a here do a sensational job, flowers bloom all year, exotic trees abound and the dogs adore being off leash here. Congratulations to the council

“Great for families, dogs and walkers”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 November 2012

This spacious park can be entered off High St or the Northern entrance.
There are statues, fountains and plenty of shade.
There are native specimens, and formal exotic plantings.
Dogs can be walked, or allowed of the leash for play with fresh water from water fountains for people and canines!!
There are many paths for walking or for kids on bikes.
Being so large means plenty of quiet nooks for reading or snoozing.
It remains a popular and well maintained public garden.

“Unque shape”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 March 2012

The oval is like a slight ampitheatre: it's at a slightly lower level.

Apart from the lack of native plants and trees, this is a good peak in a very expensive area of Melbourne. You can catch the number 6 tram down St Kilda Road: get off at the stop before Williams Road (three stops after Chapel St, Prahran where you cross the number 78/79 tram, a north south route).
