“Worthwhile detour on the way home”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

We were driving from Bright back to Melbourne and decided to detour and stop at Seymour for lunch. After reading the good reviews on this restaurant we had much expectations. We are happy to say that the food was great (love the crumbed whole Camembert and the bread and butter pudding) and the service was magnificent. Friendly and considerate owners who told us the history of the building and the paintings on display. Such a nice lunch break in our journey home. Highly recommended.

“An Experience!!!”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

This is an art gallery and restaurant. The couple who run the place are eccentric in the nicest possible way. The food is average but it's worth a visit to meet the owners. Definitely different

Thanks Michael,
One could say we have become like our 'artists'! A bit eccentric! After more than 20 years running our business together and also living in it we have melded into what we you see. Glad you like us.

“Again”
Reviewed 12 October 2013

Visited the old Post Office again for lunch. It was again a grand experience with the food being cooked to perfection and service with "top marks". This time had a "Ploughmans Lunch" which was a tasty treat and very good. But then we had the "Apple Strudel". All I can say about this is WOW and it was another desert to die for. It was not just the normal apple strudel - it was simply out of this world. Absolutely fantastic. Well done again to all and I'll be back!!!

Lovely dinner, great service and the atmosphere. Will definitely be back and highly recommend! The gallery was lovely to look through while we waited for our meal and not expensive either.

“Fabulous food at Old Post Office”
Reviewed 26 May 2013

Not only was the food outstanding but the ambience and warmth exuded from the owners of this esoteric art gallery/restaurant, that this will become a definite visit the next time we drive to Melbourne or back to Sydney. Garry greeted us at the door and ushered us to a table near a lovely open fire which threw out enough heat to ensure comfort on a cool night. Armed with a glass of local red wine we toured the Post Office's most recent exhibition, being the wonderful works of Ross Patterson, an artist of the highest quality. I was absorbed by his deft use of the pallet of colours to capture light in the bush. His scene of dray horses captivated me and will remain in my memory for a long time.

Our food arrived, piping hot and delicious. The Beef Wellington was awesome and the Pastry Chicken filled with shallots and cheese was mind numbingly good. Washed down with the red wine and then followed by Lemon Cake and Lemon Crepe, we could not have asked for better.

Meeting Louise the chef and owner of the gallery was also fascinating and well worth the stop for her enthusiasm alone. Well done guys and thanks
