“Luxury feel, great value”
Reviewed 15 July 2014 via mobile

We stayed from the 11th of July to the 13th for a mother and daughter weekend in the premium ocean room. The resort is beautiful, clean and has a very relaxed atmosphere. All the staff where great but a special thankyou to Morgan who made our stay that bit more special. Restaurant One's food was lovely as was the bistro which was good value for money, the afternoon tea by the lovely open fire was so relaxing, we left feeling refreshed and relaxed we would recommend it to anyone that want to just chill out. We look forward to trying the other Racv resorts. Sharyn, Melissa and Lauren from langwarrin, Melbourne.

Dear Sharyn, Melissa and Lauren

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience following your recent stay at the RACV Torquay Resort.

It certainly sounds like you had a great stay and maximised the opportunity to relax and unwind. It is very hard to beat a couch or armchair near the fire on a cold winter day, although it is always better with afternoon tea or better yet a nice glass of wine.

Thank you again for taking the time to provide your feedback. We hope we’ll have the opportunity to welcome you back to the RACV Torquay Resort when you are next looking to recharge your batteries.

Kind regards

My partner and I stayed here from the 5th - 7th of July for our 2 year anniversary and really enjoyed our stay. Having never travelled to Torquay before we were reliant on the GPS but had no trouble finding the resort. Upon our arrival my first words were "wow!". I expected luxury (having paid $500+ for our stay) but nothing as modern and extravagant as it was. The car park was spacious and for guests there was a private underground car park. We had a quick and polite check-in with no issues.
We stayed in a Premium Ocean View Room on the 4th floor and it was beautiful. Very modern and luxurious design. The bathroom was especially my favourite - from the bath to the lights and of course the mirror that pulled out from the wall which is perfect for us ladies. If you're looking for a place that will actually fit the average adult than this is the place for you! Nothing better than relaxing in a big warm bath.
The king bed was very comfortable with a huge range of pillows to choose from (if you contact reception) that will suit anyone.
The view from our room/balcony is what it all worth the money. Overview of the golf course AND the beach? Yes please. If you choose to stay it will really blow your mind.

If I could change one thing it would be the amount of sound that comes under the doors from the hallway. A bunch of children could be heard running up and down the hallway and a bit of chatter (as all children do) around 10 o'clock at night. Either that or a restriction of children on a specific floor.

Overall, yes we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone and will plan to come back in the future.

Dear ‘ATMR95’

Congratulations on your recent anniversary and thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience at the RACV Torquay Resort. We’re delighted that we were able to contribute to an enjoyable weekend away.

We are very proud of the facilities that we are able to offer our members and guests, and it’s pleasing to hear that we delivered the experience and sense of luxury that we aim to. We also have the good fortune of being located in an amazing part of Australia and the stunning views are consistently a hero of our guest feedback.

Thank you for providing further information on the room in which you stayed. The issue of noise in the room is certainly not something that is raised very often and we were concerned that the automatic door seal was not functioning as it should. We’ve checked it and it would appear that in this case we simply had some particularly noisy children staying. We certainly apologise for any disruption that they caused to your stay.

Thank you again for taking the time to provide your feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back to the RACV Torquay Resort and Surf Coast when you are next able to visit the region.

Kind regards

As a couple we went for the long weekend. Cannot fault this place at all. Absolutely magnificent - from the check in we knew it would be great. The view from reception has an incredible wow factor. Our king size ocean view room was large, well appointed, comfy bed and pillows scrupulously clean and a stunning view of the golf course and ocean. We loved the electronic blinds too. We used the gym- excellent! The parking was undercover. The complimentary brekky was great. Really enjoyed it. Will be back!

Stayed last Saturday night and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The architecture is superb and leads to feelings of great space and being able to be on your own even with the resort being full and with many small children around.

Arrived a little early and it was suggested that we sit in the lounge and they would ring us shortly. We did, very comfortable swivel chairs at the glass walls overlooking he golf course whilst we had a glass of sparkling and a tasting platter which was beautifully presented and tasted great. In the middle of this they delivered our room keys.

Lovely large and comfortable room again overlooking the golf course and out to sea. Good sized balcony but very cold and windy so not used. Bathroom large and well appointed with a separate bath and shower. Little things like the hairdryer had an cord that telescoped.

Down to spa for the hammam and a massage. Again, lovey experience especially as the weather was foul. Sitting in a warm pool looking out at the clouds made it special. The massage was agreed as one of the best.

Dinner and breakfast was superb and we left feeling very relaxed. Didn't have time to use the games room, pool, tennis courts etc.

Staff were all excellent, very friendly and happy to help - especially Chris in One Restaurant.

Booked last minute for weekend in June and got the last golf view king room available. If intending to go on the weekend book well ahead, as it appears they book out every weekend. Rooms were impressive, spacious with high ceiling and great picture windows, leading to a balcony. The king bed was very comfortable with an extensive pillow menu should you require it. The en suite was spacious with a very large shower. The complementary toiletries were of good quality. Proper reading lamps were a nice touch. The resort is extensive with excellent facilities, including a marvelous breakfast which was included in the price. Kids will love making their own pancakes in the pancake machine. Dined at the restaurant on Saturday night and was very impressed with both the food and the service. All the staff were pleasant and attentive. Bookings are essential at the restaurant and times are staggered so the kitchen is not overwhelmed. Really enjoyed the fresh scones, with jam and cream in front of the open fire in the lounge. Free wi fi throughput the resort. Under cover parking. Close to everything Torquay and Jan Juc have to offer. Very impressed. Will be returning. As an RACV member the resort represents great value for money.

Room Tip: Upper floors have better views

Dear ‘Montgomery_12’

Thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback on your experience following your recent stay at the RACV Torquay Resort.

It certainly sounds like you made the most of your short stay, enjoying all that the resort has to offer. Weekends are generally very busy and as you have suggested we would recommend booking early to avoid disappointment if you have particular dates on which you wish to stay.

Our breakfast buffet is often commented on as one of the highlights of a stay, but it isn’t just the kids who enjoy making their own pancakes!

Thank you again for taking the time to provide your feedback. Ensuring that we continue to deliver a quality product and service, whilst ensuring great value for our members and guests very much remains a focus and we’re delighted that you felt this was the case. We look forward to welcoming you back to the RACV Torquay Resort in the not too distant future.

Dear ‘Belinda J’

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback following your recent stay at the RACV Torquay Resort.

Whilst all of our rooms enjoy golf and ocean views, our Premium Ocean View Rooms on levels 4 & 5 provide the best vantage point from which to take in the vista. It’s a spectacular sight no matter what the weather conditions and we are very lucky to be able to enjoy such an amazing part of the Australian coastline.

It’s disappointing to hear of your lengthy wait for dinner, although likewise pleasing that you enjoyed it all the same. Your comments have been passed on to the relevant department to investigate.

Thank you again for taking the time to provide your feedback. We hope that it is not too long before you are able to return to Torquay and the Surf Coast and we are able to welcome you back to the RACV Torquay Resort.

Kind regards
