The apartment I refer to is 106 Foreshore Apartment, which is run by Albany Harbourside Apartments. There are several other apartments on the block.
106 is very comfortable and had everything you could possibly require, including air con, coffee, tea, milk sugar and even a free bottle of wine. A large flat screen tv, DVD player and radio.
Very clean and comfortable with a lovely balcony overlooking the ocean and one can see the beautiful sun sets from there.
Please do not confuse this apartment with others in the same block. I would most definitely return to this apartment should we ever visit Albany again.

Room Tip: Apartment 106 owned by Albany harbourside Apartments.

We reached McLean House at night time, the area was quiet, dark and windy. I opened the French door and walked along the verandah, passed by a few empty rooms' windows to the end of the house in order to enter the Garden Room. Quite spooky though. The key of the room is locked in a key-pin box which I think is a very good idea.

The interior of the room is very nicely decorated and clean; The painting on top of the fireplace, the furnitures and the quilt cover are nicely chosen for the room to create the comfortable and warm atmosphere. They have books, DVD, TV and board games for us to pass time.

The bathroom / toilet is nicely decorated and clean too. They have all the necessary items, bath towels, hairdryer and a local made hand-made soap which I love it very much. I had a comfortable warm shower in a cold night.

The bed is very comfortable and warm, we had a very good night sleep for the next morning's journey. But because that night was very windy, so we heard some squeaky door hinge sound cause by the wind. Quite spooky though but still alright.

Next morning I had a better view of the room after I opened the window and the area around the house. The view is awesome! You can see the stunning views over the city and Princess Royal Harbour.

I will definitely stay in McLean House Garden Room when I visit Albany again!

Room Tip: If you travel with a group of friends of family, you may rent the whole McLean House.

I come to Albany on business every month and stay at Vermeer 102 .This apartment is very clean and though the bathroom is not mordern it is spotless.I find Vermeer a real home from home.Unfortunately for the owners there is privately owned apartments at the Foreshore that are not up to this standard,I too have made this mistake.I would reccommend that you make sure it is Vermeer 102 you are booking,it is cosy and well equipt.

Room Tip: Choose Vermeer,no views but very comfy

The hotel is good when you first arrive, but needs a lot of work done to it. It is very dirty, and very dated. The bathroom was almost unusable and the beds were so lumpy you got the worst sleep of your life.

I don't recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Albany, but on a positive subject, Albany is very pretty and it worth seeing.

Wonderful place to stay. Nice and close to everything. The outside is a bit disconcerting but once inside you'll fall in love a little. Very nicely decorated and has everything that you need. Yes you can hear busses and trains but they aren't loud enough or frequent enough to bother you at night. Slept fine enough! Overall, great place to stay and would definitely stay again!

Some people just don't get it! Reading the last review I gather this person has no idea appreciation for exceptional taste in furnishings, beautiful well chosen linen, soft pleasing colour schemes, books on the shelves worth reading, movies worth watching. These apartments are immaculately clean and comfortable. Where else can you sit in a chesterfield you would want in your own house - I've stayed in a lot of hotels and these apartments are my favorite place to stay in Australia. The owners have carefully put a collection of art and furnishings together that one could have one's own house. It is a pleasure staying in both the Vermeer and the Rembrandt. Some people seem hard to please after reading the other views but if you are after something luxurious, comfortable and different these apartments offer you a pleasant change. I could take myself off to Albany and lose myself in either of these apartments for a week with books, and my writing/word processors and not miss the rest of the world. Good work guys... love it love it love it... it it's the only place worth staying at in Albany, there are plenty places I won't stay. I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Both rooms are lovely.

This unattractive pink apartment block is located 30 metres from a bus depot and heavy freight rail train line that runs 24 hours a day hence very noisy.

My first impression when I walked into the Veemeer Apartment 102 was that granny had been downsized to a bed sitter and brought the last of her bits and pieces from the old country. It’s a bedsit, an airless small box room with a separate kitchen and bathroom, the smallest windows, no view, no balcony but thankfully air conditioned.

Overall it’s comfortable, well equipped and clean. The shower water pressure especially in the mornings runs to just a trickle.

The neighbouring malfunctioning air conditioning units make exceedingly loud grinding noises every 3 - 5 minutes, loud enough to drown out the TV and makes sleeping nearly impossible. I have been here for 5 days and haven’t had one proper night sleep being constantly awoken by the loud grinding air conditioning unit, the 24 hours freight trains, buses running engines for exceeding long periods and plus someone’s dog constantly barking in one of the units.

Added to this the apartment block also has permanent tenants that like to party at all hours and not at concerned by the noise they make. Between midnight and 3 am, you'll endure screaming, yelling, slamming doors, running up and down stairs and general party noises as the tenants fall back from the pubs.

It’s been a week from hell staying here and had to pay for the privilege.
