Review of Albany Wind Farm

Albany Wind Farm

Have been here twice in a year, love the scenery of the huge mechanic wind mills on the hills. The location is a bit far from the other point of interest in Albany, but it is worth to visit!

Awesome technology. Good displays telling the story. Nice to have these big fans to turn on when the summer comes to cool the country down. ( As I told one European tourist who gave me a curious look; then said, "are you "haffing a go" at me?" This technology that is harnessing free energy and perfect complement to existing power sources. For plant lovers the bush scape seems hardly disturbed by these giants. Very windy site (obviously). worth the look.

It's a little disconcerting to be able to walk so near the whirling blades of the wind farm. You don't realise how big these blades are until you are up close and personal with them. The whirring is more than enough to give you vertigo. The short walk is quite pleasant.
