We stayed at The Beach House at Bayside in Albany as part of a driving trip around the South West and it was the highlight of our trip. Located about 100m from magnificent beach and great walking path and just 5 mins from the CBD of Albany which is a really lovely town. The service we received was so warm and personal - very different from most places now days. Breakfast absolutely beautiful- generous and great quality local produce. Great selection of local wines in minibar and the room was immaculately clean with a real feeling of luxury and attention to detail. We will certainly return and have already recommended to other traveller and friends.

The customer service that we received here was excellent. The owners and their staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area.

Our room was very nice, although there were hairs left in the bath which was a little disappointing.

The spa and bathroom are very open plan, and when you run the shower it soaks the bathroom floor.

In my opinion the room that we stopped in could do with modernizing, but I suppose everyone has different tastes.

All in all, I would probably stay here again if I could get a better rate. We paid $295 for 1 night which was pretty steep.

Our second visit to the Beach House, just as enjoyable and the same high standard as our first trip a year ago. Lovely room(s) both times and great breakfasts.
We can recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable break close to Albany.

We stayed for 5 nights over new year with our 2 sons age 11 and 13. While I would say that this is not normally a place you would bring children the owners made them very welcome and put us in 2 Collanade rooms on the first floor and we were completely private with the landing etc all to ourselves.
The rooms are very nice. Lovely touches of a decanter of sherry and chocolates, and cake every afternoon. Small but nice bathrooms and everywhere very clean. Small guest lounge, but no one seemed to use it except us, with games, magazines etc. Free internet access. Very pleasant breakfast room and fantastic breakfasts! There was a small courtyard area, but not really set up with any comfortable seating to take in the sun...I think this would be a nice additional touch if the owners are reading this!
The best thing was the staff. The owners Janet and Keith, and their daughter Sally ( hope I have remembered names right!) were so helpful. They had great recommendations of how to spend your time and places to visit. On New Years Eve they dropped us into town so we didn't have to drive, and were very happy to ring and book restuarants etc.
Albany town is not a very beautiful place and I would not recommend staying in town. The Beach house is about half way along Middleton Beach. It is 2 mins to the beach, which is lovely. However it is quite a way from anywhere else. It is 30 mins walk in the dark ( quite fun!) to the only place to eat in the evening, and anywhere else you would have to drive to.
Would recommend trips out to Whaleworld ( surprisingly interesting...!), Alpaca Farm near Denmark ( with kids) and 2 lovely beaches...one called Greens pool at Denmark, and the other Little Beach at Two Peoples Bay...possibly the best beaches we spent time on our whole WA trip.

Situated on a small development of houses/holiday homes adjacent to the local golf course. Unfortunately, the weather was a bit too cool during our few days to take advantage of the fabulous large sandy bay, which is just a short walk past a few holiday homes.

We stayed in a room in the main house which was a reasonable size and a very nice, large en suite. The room was comfortable and clean and generally nicely furnished, although it might benefit from an up date to the carpets and bedroom cabinets soon.

The hosts, and indeed all staff, were really friendly and offered plenty of help with ideas of things to do, places to eat. Ready and willing to make restaurant reservations, and even offer a free service to drive you into town to your chosen restaurant. You will need to make your own arrangements to get back of course!

The breakfasts were fantastic, and probably the best we had during our three week tour of WA.

At the time of our visit, the property was up for sale, and I sincerely hope that the new owners are as friendly and maintain the high standards that are currently set.
