“Over Charged”
Reviewed 29 December 2013

My immediate family are frequent users of this holiday park. This month I invited my extended family from Victoria over for a 3 night stay. Unfortunately on our return we discovered we were overcharged by 1 adult. A phone call to the new park management was not successful in getting back what was owing to us. I was hoping that this matter would be rectified 'in good faith'. At the end of the day we paid a total of $1440 for 2 bungalows and a powered site. Very ordinary treatment by the park management. They just lost a regular customer.

By the way, the pool was too hot for the month of December

We booked a powered site for 3 nights. Haven't stayed here before but the reputation has always been great. Was sad to say we were very disappointed with the quality of the park. Green grass was a rarety. The bungalows look lovely and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful but we are disappointed in the upkeep of the powered sites.

Good Afternoon IloveBusso, Thank you for taking the time to place feedback. Our management team has changed and as one of the new managers I would like to advise that we are busy watering within the water restriction guidelines to keep the park including all sites green for Christmas. Just wanted to keep you informed. Cheers Vicki

We stayed in the safari tent bungalow and it was extremely close to the beach, you could hear the waves breaking on the shore. We received a really warm welcome as we collected our keys and site map. I slept like a baby in those extremely soft sheets, pillows and blankets. The location is very central and there was little noise throughout our stay. Our shower was very hot and the air conditioning worked like a charm. We didn't go into the indoor heated pool but it looked huge. The only thing we missed when we stayed at Amblin was our dog, silky terrier. No pets allowed, however the local ducks kept us company :)

We were going to book into another resort, however, a friend suggested Amblin as a great family holiday. I am so glad we stayed at this park. We had a bungalow which was quite new and very clean and tidy, we booked for 3 adults/2 children. We ended up having 2 adults/2 children which is a good size for the bungalow. It was very clean, had everything we could want. The beds were so comfy we had a great night sleep. With the amenities we found these very clean and with the pool on one side of the park, the ocean on the other and a playground between, we had entertainment for the kids as well. The park was also great for taking scooter/bike for the kids to ride around in safety, a great chance for them to meet other kids. It was also lovely having the ducks and magpies pay a visit each day. As for the staff, they were very friendly, helpful and well informed. There is a small shopping complex not too far(walking distance) if you want to get supplies and the fish and chip shop there is also good for a meal. We visited alot of the sights around the area and found the location a good base. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return to Amblin Holiday Park.

Room Tip: I think the bungalows are great for 4, 6 would be bit cosy if they are older children/adults. I kno...

The lady in reception was very welcoming, the park was clean and well set out. I cannot comment on the onsite accommodation as we stayed in our camper trailer, except to say from the outside it looked modern and well maintained. We had a great site at the back of the park with beach views. The amenities were perhaps a little dated but very clean. The park also has an indoor heated pool (we were too tired to swim, enjoyed the sunset and a walk along the beach instead, just meters from our site). Great family value - $46/night for 2A3C powered site ($30 cheaper than at least two of the other parks in Busselton). The park is a little way from town (as are most of the parks in Busselton) but it was very peaceful with no noise except the sound of the beach, ahh. Would definitely stay here again :-)

I have not stayed at Amblin for about 15 years so upon my return was not sure what to expect. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. We stayed in one of the new safari tents, and this was everything it said plus more. Camping without the discomfort!! Perfect. It was large, contained a Q/S bed, bunks, a lounge, TV, kitchenette, bathroom, r/c air con and a balcony with table & 4 chairs. Set right back from the road on the beach (one min walk to the beach), it was ideal. All linen, towels, kitchen equip, etc provided so all you have to take is yourself, clothes and food.
My type of camping.
The park itself has an indoor heated pool, playground, bbq's and is set on the beach. Very clean and well maintained.
All in all a very enjoyable experience, thank you.
