We have just had our second stay ( 3 weeks in total) at this wonderful resort. Highly recommend it to anyone. Rooms are spacious, well equipped and very clean. BBQ, spas and pool areas are great. Shopping and beach within walking distance.

Management & staff did all they could to help us enjoy our 3 week stay at Silver Sands, suggesting places to visit, best way to get there.

Our 2 bedroom apartment was very spacious, and we loved the indoor heated pool, very happy with all amenities, plus so handy to transport links, & beach just a stroll away.

Yes there are rules, but they are there for the comfort, safety & wellbeing of all guests

Disappointed with this resort as we had been led to believe it was of a high standard. Whilst the apartment was large, the quality of the fittings and soft furnishings was poor. The resort was 25 years old and many things were original! There was only one tv in the apartment despite it being for 6 people- OK, the weather was poor and we watched more tv than we anticipated! There was only a microwave and hob too, which meant meals in were limited. On the plus side, the grounds were lovely and I wish we had had some weather to enjoy the pool. The reception staff were friendly too, they constantly were amazed at us brits wearing shorts in their winter....it was still18 degrees even though it was raining. This place was in desperate need of refurbishment, it has a good location and great setting but the rooms let it down badly. It was the only place we saw a cockroach too - and when we went to reception to report it, all the bug-spray was out, so I guess this is not uncommon! Would I recommend it? No, not really.....invest in the rooms and it could be great but as it is...it is far from great.

Room Tip: Not sure there was a best room!

I took my two children to this resort for 2 nights. They describe it as a luxury resort but I think at best it's a three star rental apartment timeshare. Our 2 bedroom apartment was spacious, nicely furnished, well located near the indoor and outdoor pools - but... the kids' bedroom had a sliding glass door which led to the outside courtyard which could be accessed from the carpark. The pub is next door. I didn't like that arrangement so kept getting up to check on the kids every time I heard a noise - hence, I didn't sleep a wink for the whole night! The kids loved the indoor pool; it was well heated and big enough for a good hour of play considering it was raining and wet outside. The things I didn't like were all the rules posted up around the place and all the extra charges which you don't see at other places: if you don't put your bin out you'll be charged; if you don't leave by 10am sharp you're charged a late fee; the list went on... it makes it a less welcoming place. And there are reception staff who need customer service training. A mere 'good morning' would do. I wouldn't go back to this place but I think with an overhaul/renovation and a focus on customer satisfaction, it could be a lot better.

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated room. timeshare apartments are owned individually so they differ.

This place could be really good - the 2 bed apartments are spotless, large and well fitted out and the facilities are also very good. But first appearances can be deceptive and ours were. Basically, the resort staff need to understand that people go there to have fun. There are so many rules that you spend most of your time making sure you're not contravening them - don't hang towels over the balcony, don't jump in the pool, don't put your head under water in the spa, don't enter the lounge room unless you're over 18, dont leave rubbish in your bin when you leave or you'll be charged $30, don't check out late or it could cost you $500. The apartments are also very noisy as there are busy roads all around, there is a pub next door and you can easily hear noise between apartments. Listening to someone next door use the toilet while lying in bed at night isn't pleasant. I was really disappointed as I think the resort could be great for families but the staff make it clear that children are to be seen and not heard. Even the games room (which by the way is full of game machines you have to pay for) has rules about using the games and only having one game when others are waiting, not eating in the room, not making too much noise....There are so many apartments in Mandurah that are newer and nicer and better located that I would stay elsewhere and leave the time sharers to their rules and regulations.

the resort is adequate if you are just using it as a "place to sleep".
if you wish to go for a swim they will charge you $2 to hire a towel,if you wish to play tennis at night be prepared to pay to have the lights turned on, bring your own balls otherwise be prepared to buy them at $2.50 each.if you have a second car again be prepared to pay $15 a night to park it, there is no parking outside the resort that you can use so it is your only option.the carpark gates are locked at around 8pm you have an access key to open them, just hope its not raining.
signs tells you games room closes at 9.30 but you will find the not so friendly security guard will be in at 8pm to tell you to leave.
office staff are no very helpful, not very child friendly.
if you are planning a to lay in bed till 9am think again, the garden/cleaning staff will be rolling hand trolleys past your door over pavers and using garden blowers why you are trying to sleep.
the beds only have on blanket on them so i hope you dont feel the cold, otherwise you will be sleeping with the heater on.
im sure with a few tweaks from management this could become a great place to stay, sadly for them i would not stay here again or reccomend it to anyone else.

This place used to be so much better back in the day. Now there is so many rules and hidden extra costs. For example if you go there with 2 cars you have to pay $15 a night to park the second car if not there is pretty much no were else to park, this was not the case a few years ago. Also if you want to play tennis at night they charge you money just to turn the lights on??? what the hell!! they should put the lights on a timer that turns out at a set time. Another thing is the staff are not as friendly as they used to be especially the security guard who always has a frown on his face instead of a smile. The facilities are good but they close down to early. If you are a teenager or a bit older you are limited to sit in your room after 9:30pm which is ridiculous.....
