The actual resort and facilities - terrific. Beach is so close, shops close, hotel close. The Managers running it need training in how to get on with people. Their approach leaves a lot to be desired. Even staff complain about them. People go on holiday to enjoy themselves, this usually includes laughter - but watch out if you make this happiness too loud you will be in trouble. Unsavoury notices with ugly graphics are left around for guests to read when guests slip up. Also we booked 12 months prior to arrival and paid up front as well. We were offered a room that we were not satisfied with and had to be moved. We wanted a ground floor room as we had small children, We were told "you should have requested at time of booking". My answer to the managers would be that they should inform guests of their options at time of booking. Prepare to pay for pool towels etc unlike other resorts. Very little coffee, tea etc on arrival. Would not return whilst current Manager's are on staff.

We were a party of 10-my parents in their 70s, sisters with husbands, and kids, one below 4 years old. We stayed at Silver Sands for 5 days in March, when Perth was having a heat wave. First of all, we highly recommend this place for comfort, cleanliness, location and friendliness of staff. Gripes about the rules and signage are overblown , in my opinion. Though there were signages posted everywhere, they were not in the way or overly distracting.
We stayed in their 2 bedroom apartments, which were fully equipped with washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, microwave and full set of cutlery for 6 settings. Each apartment could easily accommodate 6 to 8 persons. Considering eating out in Australia is generally expensive and their fresh produce are top notch, it’s extremely cost saving to cook for yourself especially as most places are closed after 5 pm anyway-except for restaurants. They also had a BBQ area, which is available for use to all, but you need to clean it after use-which was no issue as all cleaning things were provided. When we were there, the BBQ pit was hardly used.
Location wise, the resort is walking distance to eating outlets-fish & chip shops, dine in restaurants, wine shops and 2 large supermarket-Woolworth and IGA. IGA is open from 8 am daily and you can reach it by cutting across the car park from the next door tavern-less than 7 mins walk. Its also a very pleasant walk to the nearby beach-less than 10 mins away.
Being a resort, all amenities were provided-swimming pool, sauna, game room, tennis court etc. All clean and in good condition. Please note that australian hotels only provide soaps, no other toiletries, so bring your own. Also there was no housekeeping service in the hotel-brooms and vacumn cleaner were provided. I presume that’s why washer/ dryer was provided, so you can do your own laundry, which included the hotel towels.
All in all, an extremely comfortable stay and I would highly recommend this place. We were given an apartment on 1st floor and I found no issues with safety of our young ones.

First stay at the resort. Our 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment was a wonderful surprise with it's tasteful decor, plenty of room and immaculate presentation. Great for self catering with a family and due to it's family friendly atmosphere felt very comfortable. Plenty to do for the kids with heated indoor pool and spa plus gorgeous outdoor pool and several heated spas surrounding the main pool. Gardens beautifully maintained. Close to the beach for a walk and a convenient 1hour drive from Perth. Loved the total ban on smoking at the resort.

Room Tip: If any mobiltiy issues, ask for a ground floor room. If a family or older people, may need to reques...

This was our second stay here. The apartment was spacious but had not been that well cleaned. The bath had a dirt line, the cupboard shelves were dusty. The kitchen only had a hob and microwave, an oven would have been useful. We also had to buy dishwashing liquid and sponge, which was usually supplied in all other timeshares. On the plus side, the pool was nice and the beach nearby which was good for the kids. However, there did not seem to be other kid-specific activities. The library had a reasonable selection of books. The minigolf course was full of leaves.
Beware of the very steep internet charges at the resort- AUD 13.75 for 2 hours!

We have just had our second stay ( 3 weeks in total) at this wonderful resort. Highly recommend it to anyone. Rooms are spacious, well equipped and very clean. BBQ, spas and pool areas are great. Shopping and beach within walking distance.

Management & staff did all they could to help us enjoy our 3 week stay at Silver Sands, suggesting places to visit, best way to get there.

Our 2 bedroom apartment was very spacious, and we loved the indoor heated pool, very happy with all amenities, plus so handy to transport links, & beach just a stroll away.

Yes there are rules, but they are there for the comfort, safety & wellbeing of all guests

Disappointed with this resort as we had been led to believe it was of a high standard. Whilst the apartment was large, the quality of the fittings and soft furnishings was poor. The resort was 25 years old and many things were original! There was only one tv in the apartment despite it being for 6 people- OK, the weather was poor and we watched more tv than we anticipated! There was only a microwave and hob too, which meant meals in were limited. On the plus side, the grounds were lovely and I wish we had had some weather to enjoy the pool. The reception staff were friendly too, they constantly were amazed at us brits wearing shorts in their winter....it was still18 degrees even though it was raining. This place was in desperate need of refurbishment, it has a good location and great setting but the rooms let it down badly. It was the only place we saw a cockroach too - and when we went to reception to report it, all the bug-spray was out, so I guess this is not uncommon! Would I recommend it? No, not really.....invest in the rooms and it could be great but as it is...it is far from great.

Room Tip: Not sure there was a best room!
