My family visited the Silver Sands Beach which is located a few Blocks away from the Silver Sands Resort in Dec 2013.

Silver Sands Beach is very different from Cottesloe Beach and Rockingham Beach as there are very little picnic facilities along the Beach for picnickers. It is more like a Private Beach as there are many Holiday Houses along Ormsby Terrace and its intermediate Streets and some of these houses have direct access to the Beach via their back yards.

For food and grocery, the Silver Sands Tarven and the Sands Shopping Centre is located just 10 minutes walk along Henson St from the Silver Sands Beach. A 20 minutes walk along Ormsby Terrace towards the Mandurah Ocean Marina will lead you to more Shops and Cafes at the Dolphin Quay.

Worth spending a day to explore the Silver Sands Beach and the surrounding Shops and Eateries when you are in Mandurah. The Sunset View is also very beautiful.

We'd have been a number of times to this beach, it has nice gentle waves, lovely clear water and just never seems to be very busy.
A great spot to bring the children and appears to be dog friendly without attracting the flies as we have found at other dog friendly beaches. Not a great beach for long walks as it doesn't have a huge stretch of soft sand but great for swimming or sun baking.

Really peaceful and natural beach. The dolphins came by and gave us a performance. Lovely for swimming.
