“Will never return”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2014

I took my husband out to Cape Bouvard Winery for a birthday lunch on Wednesday.
As we entered the restaurant the lady ignored our polite hello and went out to water a plant. We looked at the menu to be told that she had had a busy weekend (2 days ago) so wouldn't be preparing anything till Friday. What menus we asked about were not available and the person serving us just couldn't care less. The place was filthy - Health inspectors need to do their job and close this place down.
If owners do not want to serve people, close the doors. To treat someone in such a rude manner is unacceptable and I will never venture that way again. Will also let others know not to bother.
Fortunately we ended up at Port Bouvard Marina (Wannanup) where the service and food was excellent.

“Good but could be Great”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2014

Friends and I have visited often. I agree with the other comments re the surly woman behind the bar (I think she is the owner) - it seems everything is too much trouble - not a very welcoming experience at all. However, it is lovely & relaxing sitting in the rustic garden enjoying nice wine, beers and live music. While we ignore the seemingly rude host and enjoy the ambience I do believe employing someone with some great customer service skills and perhaps extending the menu and snack foods available would undoubtedly turn a good experience into a GREAT experience.

“Don't waste your time”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 September 2013

This was the worst winery experience we have ever encountered . Staff just rude. Had to ask for a wine tasting and then given grudgingly. No information supplied re wines. Would not waste time going to this winery as there are so many good ones that you more than happy to buy wine from. I have never encountered such bad customer service at a winery before. It was a disgrace and does not deserve any business.

“Charming & rustic, but overall, a bit odd!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 September 2013 via mobile

As visitors to Mandurah, we thought this would be a lovely way to spend the afternoon. We had a strange experience at the bar when we fronted up for wine tastings - we had to ask if we could taste, but it seemed like a strange request to the lady who served us. She brought out 2 glasses, only filled one, which I had to share with my friend. We opted to dine in for lunch - menu reads well, but limited - meals served very quickly & were ok. Tried to spilt the bill between our friends & us, but the lady owner's eyes rolled back at this request as if it was simply too much trouble, despite it not being very busy. We also noticed that another table had been given the same table number & sure enough, when we got back to our hotel & checked our bill total, we had been charged for the other table's meals as well! Not entirely unpleasant, but probably wouldn't recommend this place.

“Nice bush setting and simple homestyle menu”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2013 via mobile

We have been here on and off over many years and the new owners have improved the property and facilities. The menu is quite limited but is appropriate for a winery. The wine is fine, nothing extraordinary, and the beer selection from the new brewery facility is very good. All 4 of us opted for hamburgers for lunch, and we all agreed they were excellent. A very pleasant lunch and afternoon!
