I've been visiting the Noosa Beach area for over 10 years coming over to escape the cooler & wetter NZ winters for a bit of sunshine and the beach lifestyle. Noosa has grown heaps in that time and is now fairly congested and parking is difficult so best to go there on public transport or avoid it and go to cheaper areas all around like Tewantin or Noosaville.
The rich diversity of top end Cafes makes dining out in Noosa a treat, but you do have to book in advanced as most of the better restaurants are booked out. They are also on the pricey side so if you want cheaper eats I suggest you go to Tewantin or Noosaville. Just as much selection but more middle of the range price wise without the congestion of Noosa.
The walk around Noosa heads is excellent. That whole area of the Sunshine coast is well worth a drive if you are in a leisurely mood and don't want to get anywhere in a hurry.
Lovely long beaches which makes the coast come to life.
The ginger factory at Yandina is worth a visit as is the Blackall range drive if you have a rental car or a friend with one. Montville has a great couple of Cafes and Maleny a great market, but the best of all has to be the Eumundi Markets on Saturdays and Wednesday mornings. One of the bestmarkets I've ever been to, strongly recommended.
Enjoy your trip . . .
