Well it all started when we got to our 'Penthouse" without a view. The view we got from our very smelly/mouldy/musty room was of trees - not the 'great views of Noosa' as published on their site.

The owner prides himself on his choice of tiles, which are cross-cut and unsealed. So hence cannot be cleaned properly, and as they are also used in the showers, they are extremely mouldy - mould spores growing everywhere..... so I asked for a room change as this would affect my husbands health - as also the room was not what we had booked.

Well the change to what we had booked ended up costing us $20.00 extra a night - so we did get a slightly cleaner room, and a view, but little did we realise at $304.00 a night you dont get daily room service (this was not mentioned at the time of booking) and when I rang for service, I was asked who I had booked through as the servicing depended on that.... so the cleaner did turn up - changed the towels and that was all that 2 minutes would allow.

The first of our two nights got off to a good start - then at 2am we were woken by our neighbours with drunken laughter, screaming and so forth that went on until 5am.... nice one NOT> as there is no onsite manager or security they got away with it.... ruining many peoples sleep according to reception the following morning.

Noosa Blue Resort advertises itself as 'resort to indulgence' 'relaxed yet decadant' and luxury. In all honesty for the cost per night, its dirty, not maintained well, walls between are very thin so you hear everything and just overall a rip for the cost...... and we do travel alot and stay in a lot of lovely places and do not mind paying for the priviliage, however this was just not one of them.

I read these reviews after discovering the mystery hotel we booked was Noosa Blue and noticed a pattern that those who stayed in the penthouse suite had a fabulous time and those who didn't hated it. You can imagine how relieved we were when we were offered a free upgrade when we checked in.

The room layout (and the entire hotel) was strange to say the least with the spa in the bedroom and the bathroom area felt like a cupboard. The kitchen was small but functional, and Noosa Junction is just around the corner for those who don't want to navigate the steep descent into Noosa Heads for groceries or a quick bite.

Noise was non-issue, the view was beautiful (we faced the sunset), the place was clean and the bathrobes were a nice little discovery. We had the continental breakfast one time which was quite decent but didn't think it was worth forking out an extra 15 per person for the hot buffet (how great can bacon and eggs be?). Our only disappointment was that our jacuzzi refused to heat up, but for the price we paid, it wasn't that big a deal.

Glenda looks for the best deals in this case it was a 'surprise' offering through 'Wotif'. She booked one night and on finding out it was for Noosa Blue she booked a further 2 nights. We were further 'surprised' on arrival to find we had been upgraded to a 'penthouse suite'. We loved the relaxing feel of the resort and our room particularly when we ventured onto the upper deck where the spa was located with outdoor bbq and deck with views across to the sea.
The room was decorated in earthy topical/ mediterranean colours. There is 40 sm of living area with another spa bath in the bathroom. We explored beautiful Noosa during the day returning to our room to use the kitchen facilities where Glenda prepared a sumptious seafood salad and fruit platter using fish vegetables fruit cheeses and bread purchased from the conveniently located Noosa Junction shopping centre. Wines can be purchased from the hotel immediately across the road from the resort. We like to prepare meals in our room (in this case with a fully quipped kitchen) because Glenda can prepare restaurant quality meals in a minimum of time and for minimum of cost.
Ive posted a photograph of the sumptious meal she prepared. It was so nice we had it again (fresh) the next night too.
While the spa was annoying turning itself on the first night this was quickly fixed by throwing the circuit breaker and promptly repaired the next morning after informing reception. We enjoyed hours soaking in the spa after walking kilometres sightseeing. I could have stayed longer but the room was booked. We enjoyed our stayed. We got the room at an extremely attractive rate so we have no complaints.

By studying the net looking for nice places to stay that were affordable we found Noosa Blue. I wish we hadnt. Like many people who have left comments we to found that the rooms were very drap and tired. The floor was foul, no sooner had I walked in and taken my shoes off did I have dirt stuck to my feet. The mat under the coffee table was covered in dirt and had rolled bits of hair stuck to it. The couch stank again of dirt and felt like you were sitting on springs. The stainless steel behind the sink was smeared. There were missing wine glasses that had not been replaced. The outside veranda was quite depressing and non inviting. The rooftop (penthouse suite) was mouldy and and drap... didnt look like it had been cleaned for a long time. The fibre glass jacuzzi was then interpreted by the staff as being a hot tub with no air flow. However we had already been moved from a room (for other reasons) that faced the road and when the jacuzzi on that roof was tested it worked well, but in our new room we were told that it was a hot tub, and "hot tubes dont have air flow", little did she know that there were rustly coloured water jet marks coming out of the jets where it had once worked, but was obviously broken now. So as you could imagine the overflowing still watered "hot tube" was not exactly awe inspiring and went unused... mainly because your skin would have been eaten by the heavy amount of chlorine they have used instead of regulary cleaning it. The noise factor was a real issue. Never before have I slept with the bed against the wall where people walk past. As you can imagine you could hear every whisper and suitcases being dragged was a huge issue. Wouldnt have been so bad at certain hours of the day, except the noise was more common during early hours of the morning with drunks yelling their way down the corridors.
Having checked out of Noosa Blue and not having been asked how our stay was we then headed home. An hour after checking out we realised that we had left a very expensive item of clothing in the room. When I rang the reception staff said that she would investigate it with the housekeeping supervisor and get back to me. When she rang an hour later I was told that the room had been cleaned and the item not found... I protested saying that they needed to find it... to which she said "I can not do anything about it as it belongs with the house keeping department". I called later on after it was being looked for and they said again that it had not been found. When I stated that the item must have been stolen during the clean she said "cant help that". As I am writing this I have been on the phone with them discussing this issue without any satisfactory result. I am most disappointed as one would think that when paying close to $300 dollars a night that the house keeping staff would be honest. I do not recommend this place to anyone and would not be surprised if this resort closes down in the near future.

We booked this through Wotif and the price was pretty good. I was concerned after reading Trip Advisor reviews on this property, but when we arrived we were upgraded to a very large private one-bedroom apartment set to one side of the main block. It was private and didn't have people walking passed. Kitchen lovely and big as was sitting area and bedroom. Traffic noise audible but not terrible. Some screaming and shouting on the weekend from drunks during the night. Would stay again if we were on top level to get a bit of a view. Reception staff helpful and pleasant, as was the Manager.

Noosa is so beautiful in winter and this Resort was just what we were after, a relaxing sun haven. Paid for an upgrade to a penthouse which was well worth it for the extras like the rooftop spa bath. Good size rooms. Got a great rate on the net, excellent value. The hot breakfast is a must though it wasn't included in the room rate it was worth the extra $$. Lovely happy staff too. Recommend this one.

We recently stayed at Noosa Blue for the second time (first was about one year ago). Our experience has not been bad at this place both times we have stayed there, in contrast to the negative reviews on here. Let's face it, Noosa is either expensive or horribly expensive, so if you want a cheap holiday. go somewhere else. That said, Noosa Blue is a better value option than many in Noosa. This is mostly because of it's location, I guess. The really expensive places in Noosa are by the beach and glitzy restaurants and boutiques of Hastings Street. Noosa Blue is about 10 minutes' walk up the hill from there. On the other hand, it's about the same walking time from supermarkets, which is useful if you're cooking in your unit and don't have a car (This was us, so I can't comment on the food etc. in the restaurant, we didn't use it).

We didn't have a problem with cleanliness, but our unit was booked through a local agency, not the resort itself. The pool was cleaner and warmer than some hotel pools I've used.

Overall, we love Noosa and Noosa Blue suits us well when we've gone there, but if you want the full Noosa experience and money is no object, choose the more expensive places around Hastings Street.
