We recently traveled to Noosa for a friend's wedding and booked a one-bedroom deluxe apartment at the French Quarter for our stay as it was close to both the wedding ceremony and reception venues. This turned out to be a great choice as the room we stayed in was on the top floor overlooking the pool and had everything we required for the 3 nights we were there.

There are any number of restaurants & bars within a short distance of the French Quarter, including the Noosa Surf Club, which is literally across the road. Noosa's main beach is also right across the road from the Hastings Street entrance & offers a clean sandy beach, crystal clear water & is patrolled by life guards during the day. The resort also has a fully fenced central pool with a kiddies pool, spas and a sauna for those not wishing to brave the surf (what little there was while we were there). There is plenty of room to laze on the deck chairs or spread a towel on the grassed areas around the pool.

The staff at reception were very helpful and courteous, as were the grounds staff who made sure the place was kept clean and tidy - I didn't see one piece of rubbish laying around during the time we were there. The only complaint we had is that the lift in the block we stayed in (East Quarter) was p a i n f u l l y s l o w ....... and the swipe card wouldn't open the fire door from the ground floor to be able to use the stairs to get up to the room rather than wait for the lift.

I note from some of the other reviews it can be a bit hit & miss when it comes to the quality & decor of the rooms, most likely due to when to individual owners decide to renovate their apartments & replace the furnishings. The room we stayed in was clean with reasonable quality furnishing and appliances - everything worked and the split system air-conditioning kept the room at a comfortable temperature despite the 30 degree plus temperatures during the day.

There are a number of shops (mostly boutiques) along Hastings Street but for anything more you need to venture over the hill to Noosa Junction to find a supermarket, fruit & veg or butchers shop. It is not all that far to walk but if you prefer you can catch the local bus (although a taxi may be cheaper if there are more than two of you as the bus fare from Noosa Heads was $4.50 each one-way). Surprisingly the bus fare back was only $2.30 each (no idea why the difference) which is just as well as there were no taxis to be found at Noosa Junction on either of the two occasions we went there.

Compared to some of the other resorts along the Hastings Street strip the French Quarter represents pretty good value for money & is well suited to families or couples looking for a quiet place close to the beach. Would recommend the French Quarter to others & would certainly consider staying there again on any future trip to Noosa.

Room Tip: The apartments on the top floor overlooking to pool appear to be the pick

Great hotel, great location, clean and comfortable. Reception lovely and helpful. Internet kiosks provided. Only 2 downsides - the pool is smaller than it looks in the photo but still a nice pool, and the hotel is tricky to find given its signage. The staff made some great suggestions for places to eat. Very impressed.

Visited Noosa for business. I've stayed here before with my 2 children and it is great for that; the pool is good and a close walk to everything.

The room is getting a bit tired and the couch in my room was worn so much it was barely useable.

Great location though and the location excellent. The room charges for WiFi were exorbitant. Does anyone use that anymore???

This is the second time we stayed at the resort and both experiences were great. This time we rented a 1 bedroom delux room. It was clean, well fitted out and very comfortable. I recommend that this resort for people wanting to stay 2 days+ as the facilities for cooking are very complete, along with washing. It's not a hotel, rather a longer stay apartment complex.

The Pool area was clean and the gardens well maintained. We love this property for teh location - in the middle of town and a short walk to the beach, shops and national park without a heft price tag.

Room Tip: Make sure you pay the little extra and get a delux room. They are modern and well appointed. We have only stayed in teh delux room and reading the comments, the normal rooms are not so well appointed.

We have just returned from a two night stay in a deluxe room (310) and I would love to return here for a longer stay. Our room had been refurbished and contained all you needed to stay in a self contained apartment. A two burner stove top, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, a washing machine and dryer were provided as well as a small clothes horse which could be used on the balcony. The bed was very comfortable as well as the pillows. Fans in the living area and bedroom as well as reverse cycle air conditioning kept the temperature how we liked it. The place was spotless and bright and very pleasant. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful and able to provide extra soap etc. should it be required. The location is excellent, right on Hastings St and across the road from the beach.

Room Tip: My understanding is these rooms are owned individually so quality may vary to to some degree. Stick with the deluxe rooms and you can be certain they have had some type of refurbishment recently.
