A tour not to miss! We hadn't pre booked this trip before we arrived and we chose this from a variety of leaflets we picked up at the information centre - we were so glad we did it. We travelled with our 3 children, 11, 17 and 22 - all of them loved this trip.
We had to be up very early to see the dolphins, but we were picked up at our accommodation. The drive there was really informative and we got to see loads of kangeroos on the way.
Our tour guides, Edward and Inga were great and really took the time to make sure we found out about the area and understand what we were looking at.
The diversity of the trip is what makes it so interesting. We went from rural to rainforest to beach. The first stop was in Tin Can Bay where you get to meet the local dolphins up close - this was amazing. Breakfast here is really good so make the most of it - it sets you up for the day. The trip through the rainforest was really interesting and you would not get to see it without going on this trip unless you had a really sturdy 4wd. We got to see several large goannas here too - spotted by Inga. After the rainforest you go to rainbow beach - wow. We had time here to get out and walk around - we made our way to the headland and the view was breathtaking. We watched whales swim by.
The final stretch home was along the 40 mile beach! The highway on the sands. The red Canyon was our last stop and another opportunity for lots of photos.
We were dropped off at our rental house - to the door, to complete the trip.
So glad we went - it's up there with our Great Barrier Reef trip - one you just can't miss and worth every penny.
