I travelled down the east coast with a friend and we found this one to be the best hostel! there was a shared kitchen for each 2 sets of rooms containing 5 beds but since it wasn't peak season the kitchen was only shared within 4 people. it was like our own little apartment! the place even had an oven!!
it was like a little home away from home, TV with a dvd player and you could rent dvds cheap. they took us out to a bar which was a good night.
everywhere was clean (the only thing was that the hot water was only limited through the day which meant you couldn't shower whenever you wanted but it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. The nearest beach was a 5 min walk away and they supplied a shuttle bus to pick you up and drop off to and from the station and even to the main beach!

I booked into this hostel last minute for my 5 day stay in Noosa - and im so glad I did! The place is so cool - the vibe is fun and chill and its so easy to be there. The decor is beachy/zen and so warm and welcoming. The staff were absolutely brilliant - even putting on a home made pizza night for us! The rooms are just your average dorm room but no complaints. The coolest part of this hostel is how the set up is. Every 2 dorm rooms share their own common area, kitchen and bathroom - so youre never fighting the rest of your hostel for cooking space of the chance to shower etc. Outside theres comfy little tables under cover and also a pool and ping pong table. Theres a free shuttle bus to town every few hours, and thank god, because youve got a bit of a walk to town if you dont catch it. The hostel is close to one of the beach accesses and from there you can do the Noosa National Park walk - which is a MUST! Overall, great hostel, two thumbs!

This is one of the best hostels on the east coast!.. It has a very homely, vibrant and friendly atmosphere. The kitchens and bathrooms are only shared between around two dorm rooms, due to the apartment style set up, which makes the living space seem more personal. We really loved the decor and the helpful staff were full of life. The shuttle bus to the main beach ran regularly, although the local beach, just down the road was just as good.

My 3 days stay at Dolphins was awesome ! The staff had so many ideas of things to do in Noosa, I wish I could have stayed longer there: surf, walk in the national park, yoga lessons, beach, kayak, there is much to do when not simply sitting in the garden relaxing with some music ! The decoration is so cool with buddhas everywhere in the garden and this pink color on the walls makes you happy ! You can rent surfboards and DVDs, play the pool... I was sharing a big kitchen, one bathroom and TV for 2 dorm rooms, that was really comfortable ! Room is not that big but very clean. The shuttle to the city is not really often but there are some shops down the road in case you really need something. I really recommend this hostel, everybody was so nice and relax there, perfect set up ! And there was a promo on the room, just 22$ per night, really good value !

The beach house is not in the centre so they had a shuttle bus. I stayed in the apartment style dorm. There are two bedrooms with five beds. So you have ten people to share a kitchen, bathroom, television space and outdoor seat with. This is a great opportunity to make friends. There is a good atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. The place is nice and clean. Because the seats are located right in front of the room it can be noisy until late.
The location is nice, there are shops and restaurants at the doorstep and there is a nice picnic area. The shuttle bus is a good service to go to the centre and back.

Room Tip: ask for the back room if you need a long night rest.

I loved this place it was so relaxed and chilled out, the staff were lovely and the rooms were great like staying in an apartment as between 8 we got a lounge bathroom and kitchen which were super clean and had all you needed.
The only thing worth bearing in mind is you cant drink after 8pm which as a back packer at the time was a bit rubbish, 9.30pm would seem more reasonable as there was a lack of atmosphere in the evenings, but saying that my liver was grateful and i still loved it there!

I made the booking through the phone and being a group (therefore taking a whole flat for 9 people) we were warned before making the booking that there was a strict no drinking policy after 8pm and that the place was in a residential area an therefore noise had to be kept to a minimum after 11pm - so we were well aware of these factors when booking.
The staff would constantly come into our flat, once they came and our dishes had all been washed, but were drying, however we got told "to pack everything as ty didnt want to clean up after ourselves in the morning" - I believe that as long as when we checked out the next day and everything was packed away then that's what mattered!!Check out was at 9.30 but at 9.15 the staff decided to clean the floor, and this is at the point everyone is packing and having to move around. Worse off was cleaning at 8am, when some of us had woken up to use the only bathroom and make breakfast.
I believe that the staff must have had bad experiences with previous big groups but there was no "benefit of the doubt" whatsover and we were super controlled. I had arrived a night earlier with another couple and the other room in the flat was occupied by a group of french girls - noone came in to tell them to wash the dishes they had piled up, so why was treatment different the following night?
Yes it is a lovely place, close to sunshine beach but I'll never go back again - we were a group of late 20s to 30s and were on our best behaviour - but staff was really unfriendly and more worried about any work we may leave for them than trying to ensure we were having a good time or suggesting on what we could do around.
The dorm rooms have wooden slits so you can basically hear any noise, it doesn't block anything. Also there are no locker in the rooms, and though for us it wasnt a problem as we were a group, i can see how that can be an issue when you are sharing with strangers.
