“Affordable luxury in Noosa”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2010

Picked Culgoa Point on a whim when it was one of a few places that still had reasonable room rates for the long weekend. We plumped for a Deluxe Beachfront apartment and it was really lovely. There's not much of a beach there, but it's a nice strip of sand with beach loungers and BBQ. Hastings St and Noosaville are both about 2km away.

The apartment itself was large enough. Lovely big dining table and couches and modern flat-screen digital TV. It did takes us a while to figure out how to access the cable channels (and it required a call-out to reception!) but it was all sorted. There was everything you need for a relaxing self-catering stay. Bit of a small bathroom though (would liked to have had a bath). Reception was really helpful as well.

There were a few kids around, but we didn't hear much of them. There's a pool and tennis court there as well. For the price, Culgoa Point is a great choice for a family stay in Noosa.

We stayed for three nights. The apartment was very nicely decorated, spacious, well equipped. We had a second floor apartment with ocean view. Did not have too much of a view but was nice anyway. There was no elevator so it was a little unconfortable to carry our luggages. The main room was ok, the bed not so confortable but fine, the bathroom too small, but ok. The living room, dining room and kitchen very nice. We had a/c. There were barbeques next to the beach which we could use and that made it amazing. I really recommend getting a first floor apartment ocean view because then you have the beach two meters away. We had first gotten another apartment without ocean view, but changed because of the location and decoration. I am not sure but I believe the apartments are privately owned, so the first one we got was old, dark and not inviting at all and had the neighbors too close for my taste.
It was a 15 minute nice walk to hastings street (main street) and the beach, which may be a little tiring to do all the time. But if you DO NOT want to be where everything is, it is very recommendable. It even has a supermarket next to it and not expensive.

We have just returned to NZ from a Holiday on the Sunshine Coast and Hervey Bay
During our holiday we spent 3 nights at Culgoa Point and wished we had spent more
WHAT A SPOT
Lovely venue ,great staff, immaculate grounds and the grounds were continually being kept that way
Thanks very much-------------we will return

We stayed for 6 nights, whilst we thought the location was excellent and the pool great for children, we were disapointed with the lack of servicing of our apartment, we had no clean towels given to us we traveled from NZ and didn't expect to have to provide out own towels, you cant expect travellers to provide their own towels or expect them to wash the resports ones!

The apartment was very dated and not cleaned thoroughly we dont belive it was a four star more like a 3 star: We are used to better at a $ start: we will go back to Noosa but will look for something that is more modern, their photos are misleading, if you advertised like that in NZ, you would face strong challanges from our consumer act people.

We had an upstairs apartment looking out on the marina and the view was lovely & very peaceful. Families staying made the most of the pool even though the weather was cool & damp the water was still warm. Our apartment was comfortably furnished with leather lounges and a big dining table if we had needed it. The bed could have been bigger but it was still comfortable.
We ate out a Noosaville each night which was a bit further than Hastings Street but much quieter.

We had a ground floor apartment on the River. It was very peaceful - great to unwind. View was superb - sunset amazing. A flat 20 minute walk to Hastings St or to Noosaville (the place to dine). Apartment tastefully decorated and very comfortable and located right on River beachfront. A great place to stay if you just need to relax!

We stayed at culgoa point in June 2007. We got a first floor unit. For a start it was the only one without air conditioning (i.e. both units above and below had air con and the ones next to us). The unit was old and had not been renovated for many years. The only newish thing about the unit was a new fridge.

We were looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday but the unit above us had some 16 year olds (who we found out was the son of the owner) and they decided to have a party with loud music and partying until 3am in the morning. We called security many times but even they could not stop them.

The time before this we also stayed at Culgoa and had a marina facing unit and unfortunately it was noisy aswell because of teenagers in the park opposite every night.

The location is perfert but some the units are old and seem to attract teenagers.

We ended up going across the river to Noosa Pacific and had a beautiful unit and perfert experience for the SAME PRICE.

I hope other people have better luck at Culgoa.
