Yes, this is off the beaten track - just - but this sumptuous hotel makes the short detour worthwhile. This Hotel scores highly in hospitality, comfort, individuality, professionalism and breakfast. It is a detour that we shall be making again.

We have just had a wonderful night at Fortingall Hotel at a family wedding. The whole experience was beautifully done, the ceremony, drinks, dinner and evening were faultless. The comfort of the rooms was of a standard that you expect for a top country hotel. All the staff were friendly and willing to please. We will definitely return.

Stopped by to explore the church yard with its famous Yew. Decided I was peckish and would have some lunch. I entered the main door and everywhere was quiet and a bit deserted but got directed through to the bar where there was a lovely fire burning and other guests. Just had tea and a sandwich but they were good. Beautiful setting in a village which MrS would call "RP*". The hotel takes dogs and they can go in the bar too so I've put it on my list of future visits.
*Ridiculously Pretty

In October had the privilege of visiting the Fortingall Hotel and enjoying a delicious cream tea. Warm scones, lashings of cream and jam in front of a blazing log fire.
Also knowing that the 5,000 year old yew tree was just a stones throw away. Perfection.

First impressions were favourable, the venue looks splendid and sighted in a picturesque position. Staff were friendly and welcoming, however the downside was the mould in the bathroom and the plug in the bath that was stuff fast and we had to use a teaspoon to prise it open!
We ate in the bar area and as this was our first trip to Scotland we both choose Scotch Broth as the starter - big mistake it appeared that the vegetables were frozen with just water added, hardly what you would call Scotch Broth, the main course was fish pie made with new potatoes and very little fish, needless to say didn't even try the desserts! We were so disappointed, however the breakfast was better but would we recommend this hotel - definitely NOT!
