Excellent place so close from the town center. The breakfasts have been absolutely delicious and so good attended by Petra (who did a great effort to speak us in spanish) and her team. Also, I enjoyed a lot -after the ski day- the sauna and the relaxing room. Thank you very much for these wonderfun days.

Everything is spotless here from the starched tableclothes and table decorations in the dining room to the immaculate bedrooms. The staff are very charming and helpful.

The breakfast is excellent . A choice of just about anything you would want to eat.

They do dinner twice a week which is quite a good idea since you can then go out the other nights.

They serve complimentary snacks from 3.30pm until 5pm. However they are savoury (soup, meat and cheese rolls and a hot alternative) which I suppose caters more for the children in the hotel. It would be nice to be offered a cup of tea and a piece of cake as well for the adults
since we are not in the habit of having that sort of meal mid afternoon.

However we have had a very nice week and we would return here!

I had read a few reviews that said that people got too hot in the bedrooms. We solved this by turning our radiator off completely in the bedroom and we were plenty warm enough all week!

Room Tip: We had a superior room which faced the front and was lovely.

First time skiing in Lech and the tour company put us up in Antonius Hotel. Very warm welcome from the proprietors who were friendly and more than happy to advise about local bars, bus services to nearby skiing areas etc.

Things didn't start well in that the room was supposedly a twin but over there they apparently have "Austrian twins" which are basically a double bed with a small gap between the twin mattresses. The gap was tiny so it was effectively a double bed - fortunately they were able to move us (2 straight blokes) to a family room after the first night and for no extra cost.

Location of the hotel is excellent - a short walk to the centre of Lech with the bars, restaurants, ski lifts etc. all close by along with a Spar supermarket.

Room was comfortable (if a lilttle too warm initially - we needed to turn off the radiator) and spacious with a decent shower. Free WiFi was available although it was a bit patchy in some parts of the hotel.

Food was top notch. A wide range of cereals and fresh fruit along with the usual continental cheeses/meats plus bacon and eggs at breakfast. In the evening, there was usually a choice of two main courses (to be made at breakfast that day) plus soup, starter and dessert and another course. Compliments to the chef who produced some excellent dishes that were fresh, tasty and well presented.

Overall, we had a fantastic time in Lech at the Hotel Antonius and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The only negative thing I can say is about Lech itself in that the bars are extremely smoky (not the Antonius though) as they don't appear to pay any attention to smoking restrictions!

Room Tip: Beware of "Austrian Twins"!

A family run hotel with a warm Austrian welcome, spacious comfortable rooms catering for travellers from across Europe and beyond. We were half board and the food was outstanding, from the fresh bread every morning to the superb six to seven courses each evening, everything you could wish for after a day on the slopes. Additionally complimentary cocktails are served on a Sunday and cake every afternoon between 3 and 5 (timely as Ski school finishes at 3!)
Set on the beautiful hillside in Lech, the Hotel was a short walk to all the village amenities, the ski school, ski and snowboard hire shops, restaurants and bars as well as the local Spar. Having easy access to the three main lifts means that experienced skiers can explore all the Arlberg region, the beginners amongst us could enjoy the scenery and other local attractions such as the Toboggan run without having to even think about catching a bus. These do however run free of charge to most of the local villages for those who do fancy a trip out. We found no need or desire to leave Lech.
The people of Lech are all friendly but the Hotel Antonius offers a warm welcome, a high standard of service and a huge amount of local knowledge that can only be gained by generations running and managing the Hotel. All the family members are multilingual and the service even extended to the Grandfather getting up at 6 in the morning to take us to the bus to save us having to rely on a taxi.
Breakfast included fresh fruit, cereals, Eggs and bacon as well as the normal continental breakfast, fresh from local farms and bakery.
The evening meals were an array of dishes, fresh and cooked to perfection. A choice of two main courses each day, an event in itself worth looking forward to. So nice in fact that we brought away with us one of the menus’s as a reminder of how good food can taste.
Televisions having both European and English TV were in all the rooms, the wellness centre within the hotel contained a sauna, a steam room, an ice room and a relaxation centre giving welcome relief to a weary skier such as myself.
The hotel has been fully refurbished over the past few years retaining the traditional whilst giving the guests all the modern comforts they require.
As beginners to skiing you really need to have a comfortably and relaxing hotel to come back to and you can't go wrong with the Hotel Antonius. Costs within the resort are relatively high but not considering you are up a mountain.
Wi fi was available in the hotel however we chose to fully relax and enjoy our stay.

This hotel is a family run affair a few hundred metres from the town centre, up a side road. We spent a week there and found the family to be friendly and helpful. Our room was pleasant, clean and had all the necessities.
However, the atmosphere of the place was really one for older people. Very quiet, lights out early type of atmosphere. No music or drinking or what I call après-ski. For that we had to venture into town.
The location is close to slopes, but it’s a bit of scramble along snowy paths to join a piste, so not the easiest by far. You could ski back to fairly close to the hotel, but again it’s not right on the pistes.
The food was a little disappointing. Only occasionally was there any choice on the evening meal, the quantities were small and quality was very basic for the price. There was far too much cream and dairy in the diet, while good quality meat or fish was rarely present. Breakfast buffet was quite meagre in choice, while the salad bar in the evening had the least variety I have ever seen in an Alpine hotel.
The hotel caters for a lot of UK skiers from package tour companies, again mainly an older set, no doubt at bargain rates, but when you book directly the costs are much higher.
Some online agencies have this listed as a 4-star hotel; that it definitely isn’t. It’s really a 3 star Pension or Inn.
Personally I wouldn't return, as I learnt that the lively Krone in the town centre was also available for the same or less money. For that reason I would say that the Antonius is a little overpriced.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Antonius and would have no hesitation in recommending it. The hotel is well situated, (though not really ski in/ski out, more trudge in/trudge out), very close to the main street in Lech and the slopes. The staff are all very welcoming, efficient and friendly, and the rooms are well appointed and kept to a very high standard of cleanliness. The food is also of a high standard and certainly plentiful. My only slight negative points are in relation to the dining arrangements. Firstly, on one of the evenings the staff have the night off and you must look after yourselves for food. Whilst this is common in Chalet holidays, this is a hotel and I have never come accross this before. I actually believe that it is incumbent upon the tour operator (Crystal) to mention this as opposed a fault with the hotel. Secondly, the dining room is hot and just gets hotter. Both years I have stayed, the temperature in the dining room has been excessive, to the point of having a detrimental effect on your enjoyment of the meal. However, this is of course my opinion and some people may enjoy eating in a sauna! Overall, a very good hotel in a great town - enjoy.

Room Tip: Ask for a 'Juniour Suite'. Not much more expensive, but a bigger room with seating area.

We keep returning to Lech. it is a very special place. we love it!
This was our first stay in the Antonius and it did not disappoint in any respect. We knew that the location was good being only a short walk to the town centre and main lifts. The family Strolz made sure that our stay was comfortable and that we lacked for nothing. We thought that the quality of food was exceptional for the size of establishment. We hope to be back again next season!
