“Excellent Choice in Bevagna”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

Palazzo Brunamonti is situated in a perfect spot. Steps from their front is the center of little Bevagna and all of the wonderfulness of this Umbrian village. It is an historic building, one of the many in the village. This may be one of the points that draws ones attention. Next will surely be the hospitality of the hotel staff. You will likely be greeted warmly and your check-in and stay handled in a most professional way.

Two items of interest to point-out: The “standard” single room is a bit smallish; so, if you are more than one, you will wish to reserve the larger, “comfort” level. And, it is important to note that the hotel is located, as I’ve mentioned, in the center of the village. The street leading to the hotel is small and narrow as is often the case in the villages. It provides its own special charm to the place, but can be a bit difficult to negotiate in your vehicle, if you’re not accustomed. Additionally, if you’ve not previously been to Bevagna, you would be well-advised to call ahead as you approach and the congenial manager/staff will be helpful in directing you and assisting in your arrival.

My friends and I stayed here for 1 night. The building itself is very appealing and the room that my partner and I had was spacious and comfortable, with good beds.
Breakfast was very acceptable and served in a very attractive room.
Bevagna is a charming small town and well worth a visit. I would recommend - if available - a tour of the theatre, a real gem (ask in the tourist office on the main square - the theatre is immediately above it).

Hotel is in a great location in the middle of town. Beautiful large bedrooms tastefully modernised. Owner was helpful and accommodating with our bikes.

The only negatives was that breakfast was a bit average and internet only available in reception.

We have stayed at this lovely hotel before and it is a delightful experience - fantastic location, very friendly staff and beautiful rooms. We had a gorgeous ground floor room with a vast bed and big sofa - bliss! The breakfast, however, does need attention - it was very minimal, poor coffee, hardly any fresh food. Apart from this it was a great stay and Bevagna is, of course, , a jewel amongst Umbrian towns.

Palazzo Brunamonti
Beautiful hotel built into walled city. Great location as it is in the middle of everything. Walk one way into the older town center. Walk the other way and find more contemporary shops (including a cashmere outlet?)

Our room, #31, was very comfortable and clean and overlooked the street...relatively large with spacious modern tiled bathroom. The room was part of a larger suite with the other room locked off. There is an elevator which was nice since it was on the equivalent of American 3rd floor. Would recommend our room but note that there are steps down into the room which would not be good for folks who have problems with steps.

Very interesting old stone building with a maze of halls and rooms. The first floor had portions of the floor tiled in glass to reveal the historic stone foundations.

Wi-fi was spotty. The best place to find it was in one of the reception areas on the first floor. We could not get it in our room.

Our group of friends had dinner at the hotel in a beautiful room that in a prior life was probably a formal salon. Painted murals of older scenes provided wonderful ambiance for our last evening dining together. We enjoyed multiple courses of Umbrian antipasta and dishes.

Breakfast buffet was standard. Variety of breads, yogurt, cheese, fruit, etc.

Room Tip: Room 31 was great...spacious and clean, but does have interior steps if that is a problem for anyone...

Nice and spacious rooms and lounge areas throughout the premises. Many common areas decorated with ceiling and wall murals. In November, we were the only guests and the little walled town was also semi closed down. Hover some fatatc restaurants were open and we were recommended nd ersonally escortedto them by the hotel manager as they were hidden down side alleyways. Car parking is provided next door but ensure you have a piccolo sized car otherwise it won't squeeze through the narrow gateway (we rented a Fiat 500 for the little walled cities - the Ferrari was far too wide to fit).

Stayed 4 nites at Hotel Palazzo Brunamonti in Bevagna. This hotel is wonderful! Bevagna is a small village in Umbria, brush up on your Italian - you will need it! The Brunamonti is very clean, comfortable and the service was great. My room made me feel like a princess! The manager, Salvatore was very kind & helpful. Breakfast was good with many choices and served in a beautiful dining room with frescos on the ceiling. In all - an amazing stay, I will find a way to return someday!
