“nice family resort, but rooms are worn out”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 October 2013

Would recommend this resort to those with family/children. Children-friendly, lots of activities for them, and pools were nice. But rooms are quite worn out ...restaurants and bar were ok. Breakfast was good. We didnt avail of the all inclusive, so cant comment on lunch and dinner, we dined out instead.

We had nice seaview with 50 m2 room size with balcony. Very good comfortable beds and pillows too. Kitchen was convenience, but there wasnt cutting "plate". Refriderator was good. There was two TV, living room and bedroom, size 32 about. I saw live football from tv channels. Bag thing is the floor, there wasnt carpets at all. not good with small children. In the hotell the swimming pools size was adequate and seawater was warmer than pools. There was free minigolf. Lots of Norwegians and Swedish.

The hotel situated very close to restaurants and shops. Staff was friendly and also housekeepers was brilliant.

We stayed in a Royal family room facing garden consisting of a living room (incl. small kitchen) and a separate bedroom as well as a patio.

Room:
The room was pretty worn out and I would therefore give only 3 stars. There is need to completely renovate the rooms and furniture. You could see that the room had been used a lot during the past years.
Even though it was hot out it was very damp inside and everything felt wet (bed linen, clothes etc). The bathroom (shower and toilet, no bath tub) was very small and the ventilation didn't really work (even though we kept it on 24/7). The surfaces were wet all the time. I am amazed if there is no mold or other growth... With family of four you would appreciate a good size of bathroom. The air-conditioning kept the rooms cool, but smelled a bit weird.
The beds were surprisingly comfortable and the kids had also separate beds (one slept on the sofa and the otherone on extra bed).
We had cleaning every day (incl washing dishes), however if you wanted to have the bed linen changed you had to yourself take the sheets and place them to the bathroom. Not really 4 star service! The towels were nice, thick and new.
There were a lot of mosquitos in the room and we all got badly bitten. You can buy repellent from the minimarket and that luckily worked pretty well.
Our room was on quiet place facing other similar rooms on the opposite side of a lawn area, but be aware some of the rooms had not so nice views and peaceful locations. I wouldn't recommend a pool view/side room or room close to the mini-golf if you like to have some quiet times.

Restaurants:
We didn't have any meals included in the room price. We opted to eat quite often in the La Tasca restaurant by the pool. They had children's buffet that was free for kids up to 11 years and kids loved it. The theme dinners BBQ and Cyprus evenings were something I would recommend. It is not fine dining but nice variety of dishes you can try and taste for a good price (25 euros/adult incl a drink, kids have their own free buffet). The only minus was one local waitress, she was really rude every single time we were so "lucky" to get her as our waitress. The most of the staff is Swedish and they were nice and smiling. The breakfast room and all inclusive restaurant didn't look that nice (more like a school cafeteria) and we didn't try them at all. You can buy fresh bread from the minimarket and other breakfast items, so we opted to eat breakfast on our own patio. There is a quite nice Italian restaurant "Atlas" (very good reviews here in tripadvisor) just a few meters to the left along the main road in front of the hotel. And don't miss the happy hour in Lime bar; 2 same drinks for price of one (but you only can have the exact same drinks) and ice-cream in the ice-cream bar is delicious!

Pools:
The pools were nice and seemed clean. However not many people used the showers before entering the pools. The sun loungers were (of course) reserved early in the morning even though it was not allowed... The pool area is very crowded with the loungers, you really are close to the person laying next to you :)

Activity program:
Most of the kids' program was in Swedish, which was a bit pity for our 5 year old. There was a lot of activities and didn't participate that much. The family entertainment shows in the evening were pretty good, kids liked them a lot.

Beaches:
- Sandy bay beach is just front of the hotel, our favourite because it was so close and easy to access. It is not a rocky beach like someone here said, there are some rocks on the sides of the bay, but in the middle there is plenty of sand. Child frienly beach that wasn't as crowded as Nissi beach.
- Nissi beach is about 300 meters from the hotel and a path takes you there along the coast line. It is quite good path that you can easily push a trolley or even wheelchair and it is alighted during the evenings/nights. Nissi beach is a bigger beach, but extremely crowded and therefore also quite dirty (a lot of garbage in the sand and water).

Other comments:
We got our room keys already at the airport and when leaving we could check-in our luggages already at the hotel. So easy, really excellent service on that part!
Bring your own tennis, golf and table tennis balls with you or otherwise you need to buy them (not possible to rent). A lot of small extra charges here and there also in the teen lounge (e.g. for playing PS games).
If you speak Swedish you feel like home, everyone speaks Swedish and all guests are from the Nordic countries (no Russian, German or Brittish guests) which was a positive thing for us.
The area was clean, but for some reason there was a disgusting fish pond just next to the La Tasca restaurant and sun lounger area, you couldn't see the fish since the water was so green and dirty.

I would recommend this place to families (with small children under 11 years) that are not looking for luxury or excellent service, but are happy with a 3-star premises and service. If you don't have kids, go somewhere else, unless you really love other people's children ;) And if you'd like some luxury, this isn't your option...

Room Tip: Royal family suite with garden view was in peaceful and quiet place. If you ready to pay some more...

This was a first time that we opt for the family hotel with all inclusive service. Having a 4 year old, the decision turned out to be fantastic for everybody. While she enjoyed all-day-round activities we had a chance to relax. Hotel is mainly Swedish (meaning that everything is on Swedish), but since we are from Denmark that was just fine. The mini-disco was a total hit! The only thing we were not very happy with was the food, especially the one for kids. Was pretty much the kind of food you get in fast-food restaurants. It is not a problem if you stay for a week, but I imagine it could be a problem if you stay longer.
We stayed at Lollo & Bernie suite and it was just beautiful.

We stayed here with our 2 kids and my mother in September 2013. We had never stayed at this kind of Scandinavian all inclusive hotel before, and we were so surprised - it was even better than expected! The food in the buffet restaurant was very varied and tasty, especially the Middle Eastern and Cypriotic evenings. The kids have their own buffet, incl. dessert buffet with ice cream and eat free with a paying adult. But best of all were all the kids activities! We barely saw our 4 year old daughter all week, since she was busy in the kids club, pool disco, kids after beach, mini stars, playing and swimming with her new best friend in one of the six swimming pools etc... The evening shows are very high standard and we spent several nights in the bar, listening to great music. The only thing that disappointed us was the closest beach, Sandy Bay. To get to a good beach, you have to go to Nissi beach (about 10-15 minutes walk on a rather small and wobbly path) and with 2 small kids and one 70-year old mother this was a bit too much in the heat. But then again, the kids were happier in the shade at the pool anyway, so not much to complain about.

Room Tip: We stayed close to the pool. Lovely view and close to the restaurant. The evening shows are on until...

In general a very good hotel with some friendly staff. I you're not a scandinavian I CANNOT recommend this hotel :-)

PROS:
Friendly staff og quick service.
Rooms are being kept clean every day. We had a 2-room apartment - very spacious.
Great pools for babies and young children.
Miniland for children is very good and there are a lot of acitivities which the children can sign up for.
A lot of scandinavian visitors which were great for our children.

CONS:
If you dont eat at the hotel there is a lot of dining opportunities just outside the hotel. Only thing is that the food in general is much below average.
Pool area is very crowded.
All inclusive food is mediocre.

Nice place to be with small children. The hotel is very scandinavian, almost everyone speaks swedish, norwegian or danish so if you understand these languages you can almost feel like home. We were lucky, our flat was only 15 metres from the pool area. The food on the hotel area was very good, we ate several lunches on La Tasca restaurant. In the evenings we went to the restaurants outside the hotel where it was a little cheaper but reasonable good food. When we went to the breakfast, there was 23 strollers outside the breakfast area so you can understand that this i a childfriendly hotel. It is also a friendly hotel for those who has f ex glutenfree diets or lactosefree diets. There was separate menues for these diets. Overall a very good place to have a family holiday and lolo and bernie are the best. The only negative thing is that the pool area was very crowded and the sun beds reserved if you weren´t there very early in the morning.
