“Melpo Antia”
Reviewed 22 November 2013

Stayed at Melpo Antia in October 13. When we arrived on the transfer coach we were really pleased, the hotel looked lovely and in an excellent positon. Check in was very smooth and we went to our apartment. Wow - they are fantastic - spotlessly clean, so modern and very large. We were very pleased, had a gorgeous view of the pool also. Beds soooo comfortable and the safe in the room is free also!!! You dont get that in many places!! The pool area was spotlessly clean and a nice touch when you're sunbathing and its boiling hot and the staff bring round a nice, ice cold towel to cool you down - a lovely touch. The staff are really friendly and nothing is a problem - the food was lovely - especially the lunch menu - but the portions are sooo big, expect to put on a few pounds. The hotel is in a fantastic position with everything in close proximity. Frankie's bar at the front of the hotel is lovely and serves great food, and the hotel even has an onsite supermarket and coffee shop which sells lovely fresh doughnuts and cakes.
I work for Thomson Holidays and had a great week at the Melpo Antia and would highly recommended it to anybody considering going there. Its a fab place, lovely staff, gorgeous apartments and spotlessly clean! Go for it!!!

Room Tip: book a superior apartment over-looking the pool if you can.

Excellent hotel. When we arrived the check-in process was very smooth. Within a minute we received our keycard. The older lady at the desk was not too friendly, and wanted to keep our passports for the night. We of course refused this and she wrote down the required information. The room we had was very spacious. The 'living room' has a tv and a nice sofa, the kitchen with the fridge, and small gas cooker also provides space enough to store your drinks, fruits etc.
The bedroom was pretty large and also featured an airconditioning system, however that one blows exactly in your face - so be careful not to switch it on during the night. The balcony was very large and looked to be very nice to sit on, however we didn't really do this much - as the weather was so nice we were either at the beach, the pool or at a restaurant. The breakfast is your typical southern Europe resort breakfast / every day the same, not much change. All good quality, nothing extraordinary to talk much about it. There should be a special mention to the Swedish girl at the restaurant, she was very kind and a true gem of this resort. There is a paid wifi in the rooms, and in the lobby is an open wifi (password on the note at the reception). It is 2013 and there should be open wifi in the whole hotel as well as the pool.
My parents-in-law arrived a day later than us, and they were put for 1 night in the Napian Suites. (which also belongs to the same owner as Melpo Antia). Reason given was there was a problem with the airconditioning; however we suspect the hotel was just overbooked. Anyway, the hotel is excellent located on the main street of Ayia Napa, lots of restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The Melpo Antia is close to the beach as well, an approx. 10 minute walk. Would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Ayia Napa.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view on the swimming pool, this makes sure you don't hear anything from...

Stayed at Melpo Antia Hotel in the centre of Ayia Napa in September 2013.
The reception is airy and elegant and spotlessly clean as is the other areas of the hotel.and has an al la carte restaurant named Frankie's in front. The hotel restaurant is pleasant and spacious . We had booked in for bed and breakfast only and the food was excellent. The pool area is very nice with a jacuzzi on side and a great amount of loungers complete with free towels. The one bedroom rooms are very pleasant and have flat screen tv, a full size fridge freezer , toaster and electric kettle all new.
We enjoyed staying here and are returning June 2014

Room Tip: Rooms at the front may be a little noisy as the hotel is on Nissi Ave one of the main roads

Stayed October 2013.
Accommodation was very good quality and clean, separate bedroom and then kitchen/living room. The balcony was small, but big enough. The kitchen well appointed with everything we required during our stay.

The pool area is lovely and very clean. And was also fairly quiet.

As noted by previous reviewers the location of the apartments is extremely good, for the old town, harbour and also the night life. There are lots of places to eat around (and in) the apartments.

Would definitely recommend and stay again!

My partner and I stayed at this hotel 15th-23rd September and we were blown away. Firstly, we were a bit apprehensive about going to Ayia Napa hearing the stories we have done from other people. But when we arrived at the hotel lobby at silly o'clock in the morning we were more than impressed.

Everything was sparkly and clean and we were greated by a friendly member of staff who checked us in a told us where our room was. When we got to our room we were amazed by how big it was! We had a lounge area with a sofa and tv, kitchenette area, bathroom and good sized bedroom with another tv. Our balcony was massive with table and chairs and a double sun bed with a shade cover over the top. We looked out onto the street but that was more than okay because as soon as you shut the door it's quiet. As everything has just been renovated its very modern and clean.

Breakfast is your typical hotel breakfast, a hot and cold mixture suitable for everyone. Lunch is off a set menu which is nice. Really good portion sizes. And dinner was ok too, ate out a few nights just for experience. We recommend Frankies which is attached to the hotel.

The pool area is very nice, always enough space and able to get a sunbed. The staff come round with cold towels to cool you off which is really nice as it was hot!

Lots of restaurants, bars, shops, bakeries and supermarkets along nissi avenue. Nissi beach not far either, 5 minutes in taxi for 7 euros, 25 minute walk or you can get a bus for 1 euro 50 each way, also good to know that it runs 24 hours a day. Napa sqaure is a 5-10 minute walk but you cant hear any noise from it at the hotel. I also recommend visiting Portaras, we hired a little doom buggy and drove up there which wasn't far.

Wi-if is available in the hotel lobby for free, but when lots of people are using it, it goes really slowly. You can also have it in your room but you have to pay for that.

This hotel is not for people who are going to Ayia napa sqaure every night. It's a quiet family/couple hotel with just the right atmosphere. We both really enjoyed staying here and it's one of the best holidays we have been on, the staff really make the holiday and they can't do enough for you. We will definitely be back next year!

Myself (Emma) and my fiancé (Dan) stayed here between the 18th-29th September! We were given the old style room but it was still ok, although I would of preferred the newer styled rooms the hotel has a lovely welcoming atmosphere with karaoke every Saturday and greek dancing, totally agree with the below comment about John the barman aka Johnny!!!! he is the best so warm and friendly a really great guy will never forget him or frank and mike! great team! met some lovely people here on holiday too! Fab location too! Would come back again but would insist on being put in one of the new refurbished rooms!

Room Tip: Ask for the new style rooms or pool view these are the best.
