“Excellent greek food”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

A restaurant that excelles in local food, espesially in seafood.
I had swordfish and that can be recommended.
My wife had mixed grill - she was not so satisfied.
Childrens menu.
No playarea for the younger children.

“Excellent restaurant”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

We visit this restaurant on every holiday to Ayia Napa. The service is fantastic and the Greek food always of excellent quality. The atmosphere is great and it benefits from a central location. Twins.

“Favourite Cypriot Restaurant”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

Tony does meat to perfection. Warm welcome, lovely Bougainvillea growing over your heads as you eat outside in the warm balmy evenings. Kleftiko . . . . lamb (cooked for 7 hrs with potatoes in a sealed pot) is amazing, as are many of this restaurant's traditional Cypriot dishes. Hot bread, good local wine and a typical Cypriot welcome. Love it

“Good food but slow service.”
Reviewed 29 June 2014 via mobile

We walked past this place on our first night and it was packed- I could hardly even make out the restaurant's name. However, it looked so pretty I was keen to make sure we made a visit. The food was yummy and there was plenty! The only thing that was disappointing was that we had to ask for our bill three times and then for the change twice...had we have had the bill earlier we probably wouldn't have been so keen to get any change back . It wasn't busy the night we visited so was a frustrating end to what was a plenty evening.

“Traditional and authentic.”
Reviewed 21 June 2014

We've walked past Tonys Taverna on countless occasions over the years, but finally decided to try the food here last Thursday.
The restaurant is over shadowed by lemon groves which provide a natural canopy to sit below. We were grateful for the wall mounted outside fans as although the canopy of lemons is lovely to look at, coupled with a HOT few days, it proved to be a bit of a heat trap!

The bread served with/before the appetisers was like nothing I've ever tasted, it was certainly home made and had a cake like texture and taste (although not sweet by any stretch.) it was odd but strangely moreish.

We ordered the Dolmades (vine wrapped minced meat and herbs), a garlic bread and some humous and local dips as appetisers. All of which tasted and felt authentic and 'rustic' in both texture and taste.

The main courses were also very tasty and large in portion, both the Pork in basil sauce and the Bolognese were equally well seasoned and full of flavour.

Tonys house white wine was also fairly good, labeled as selected specifically for the restaurant, it was a snip at less than €13.

I'm glad we've dined here, it's not just a meal, the evening was a Cypriot experience.
