“Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 October 2011

My boyfriend and I arrived to a very warm welcome of our cases being taken to our room and being presented with a lovely refreshing drink while we checked in. Throughout our stay the staff were fantasic, always greeting us with a smile and a conversation - we both agree that neither of us have ever stayed at a hotel staffed with such genuinely friendly people. Most of our activites over our holiday were based on the great local knowledge of the staff. Alongside the staff, the food and drink was a real highlight - we ate out once at a highly recommended resteraunt in Ayia Napa - it barely touched the quality of the food prepared by the Alion. Definately 5 Star. Alongside a family wedding, we'd decided to stay for my boyfriends birthday - without any prompting, the Alion prepared a delicious birthday cake for him which was presented during dinner. The Alion go out of their way to ensure that they continually pay attention to the little things that make a really good hotel special. We are investigating wedding venues, and had not previously considered a foreign wedding - we are now strongly considering the Alion, and the beautiful coast of Cyprus, as one of our main options.

Room Tip: We stayed in one of the unrefurbished land-view rooms. Would probably recommend a side or sea-view r...

We stayed at the Alion for a week in October. It is a well run Hotel and very clean. The food was excellent and we would advise dining outside on the restaurant balcony where the atmosphere is more intimate.
A very good choice if you want a more select experience in this area of Cyprus.
Many thanks to all the staff for their kind and professional service.

We arrived at the hotel in the evening to a welcome reception. Our cases were taken to our room and a bottle of champagne and sandwiches were waiting on arrival. It was those added touches that made this holiday amazing.

Although the room was not of a five star standard, it was airy and clean. I think as a couple it would have been nice to have a double bed rather than twin beds pushed together.

We stayed bed and breakfast, and the breakfast was fantastic, fresh food everyday and having a table outside with a view of the sea made it extra special.

It was good to have our own allocated sunbeds for the week and being so near the beach was great. The pool was a chlorine pool and was hot all the time and the outside toilets were very clean.

Everything was very convenient, the service around the pool was of a high standard. As soon as you sat down someone would come straight away. The food around the pool was good and we particularly enjoyed having a cocktail at the end of the day.

The staff cannot be faulted, they were friendly and the cleaners always ensured our rooms were clean and tidy. The added touch was an evening call to check we were ok.

My partner and I wanted a relaxing holiday to recharge our batteries and have a well earned break and staying at the Alion Hotel that exactly what we got. Fantastic x

Alion beach is set on the long sands of Ayia Napa, with beautiful gardens of bouganvillia trailing across the pegodas in full bloom. It is around a 10 minute walk to the centre. My partner and I had recently got engaged and we were looking at this hotel as a consideration for our wedding venue.
The sunbeds are situated on the grassy area, protected from the sun in some areas by the trees surrounding (if this is your preference). The allocation system they have in place for the beds is a great idea, however when we arrived it was unfortunate (due to how full the hotel was at the time) that we only had 2 beds to choose from, and due to the numbering system on the umbrellas it took us some time to find. We had booked a side sea view room with a request for a double bed and on a high floor. As we booked so far in advance I was hoping this request would be met, unfortunately not. Whilst the room itself was very nice having been recently modernised, along with the usual 5 star touches of slippers, robes, Plasma TV, turndown our view was not the best and we were on the 1st floor in the bottom left corner. Looking down we had a view of the staff quarters and air conditioning units. As we had recently got engaged our plan was to spend some time on the balcony with a glass of wine looking out to sea. Whist on the subject of our room positioning I must also mention the noise in the early hours from lorry carts / JCBs in the area, little sleep was had throughout our stay. This was clearly outside of the hotels control but was a problem to us, and would be to most people.
However I must thank the hotel for the bottle of Cava, this was a very nice touch, and a small token that goes along way in making your holiday special. Breakfast on the terrace was 5 star, wonderful with so much to chose from. Drinks on the terrace in the evening were also lovely. Overall I would recommend this hotel and we hope to return in the future.

Room Tip: High floor, full sea view

Thank you very much for your very good review. It is true that our gardens with the bouganvillias and the parm trees provide the ideal setting for a beach holiday experience. Our sea view and side sea view rooms have recently been refurnished and we will complete our room refurbishmennts this coming January/February with the remaining park view rooms.
It was a pleasure having you as our guests during your stay in Cyprus and we hope that we will have the pleasure to host your wedding in the near future as well!

We recently returned from an 11 night stay at the alion beach hotel, the hotel is beautiful, the grounds, the ambience, the whole atmosphere is beautiful. We got married at the hotel and it was a perfect day! it totally exceeded our expectations and i never imagined anything to the standard we recieved, i wouldn't change a thing about my wedding day. The staff are fantastic, everything is done with a personal touch, the restaurant manager in particular was very warm and welcoming and really made the effort to get to know us. The hotel manager is again very rare to find, he went above and beyond his duties on many occasions for us to ensure our stay and our wedding day was perfect. i would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxury boutique hotel with a very friendly atmosphere. We met many couples and groups at the hotel who had returned year after year and we can see why, as we can't wait to go back! we also made friends at the hotel which s always a nice touch to any holiday. overall he standard of cleanliness, the environment, the food choice was all 100 percent. And i certainly would recommend the hotel for weddings, having worked in 5 star hotels in cyprus myself i can honestly say this hotel is a little paradise hidden in the resort, its 5 star with a difference!

Room Tip: We never managed to get a room with a sea view because of late booking however if possible i think i...

My husband and I recently stayed at Alion Beach Hotel and we were very happy with it. It is a small, well maintained hotel with friendly staff, great food and beautiful rooms. The pool and grounds are gorgeous and the beach is lovely. We were lucky enough to have a Panoramic View Room which gave us a view of both the sea and of town. It is a short walk into town so it's convenient for those who want to enjoy the nightlife of Agia Napa but it is quiet and peaceful at the hotel. Everyone on the staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone!
