This was our 2nd stay at the Alion, having previously visited in June 2011. We stayed for 8 nights and had another wonderful time; so good that we did not want to leave!

On arrival at the hotel, quite late in the evening, we were informed that our park view room was unavailable and we were therefore upgraded to a side sea view room but just for 2 nights. We were informed we would then have to move to a park view room. The lady who checked us in could not have been more apologetic and she said that the reservations manager wanted to personally see us the following morning to also apologise, which she did. The staff did everything they could to assist us and sent a housekeeper and the porter to help us move rooms 2 days later. In fact, they did most of the packing and moving! We were also given a complimentary evening meal and allowed to keep our room until 6pm on our day of departure (at no extra charge) due to the inconvenience we suffered!

Most of the staff at the hotel remembered us from our previous visit and were so welcoming. They really are a credit to the hotel, as is the manager who was seen most days wandering around, talking to guests and ensuring everything was ok.

Our park view room was slightly smaller than the side sea view room but big enough for the 3 of us. The maid provided a really good service everyday and always left us with more than enough towels (pool towels included). You do not even really need to take many toiletries as the hotel provide miniatures and these are replenished on a daily basis.

The only downside to the park view rooms is the noise from the main road. This is only a problem if you have the patio door open. This isn’t the fault of the hotel, but the stupid riders of the numerous mopeds that travel up and down constantly and incessantly beep their horns!

Breakfast was as good as last year, with plenty of food and drink on offer, and we enjoyed sitting out on the terrace most mornings. Breakfast time was never busy (even though the hotel was full) and we thought it a brilliant idea that they had extended the time to 11am.

We stayed on a B&B basis and be warned, Cyprus is very expensive. We spent an absolute fortune on evening meals and drinks. Most evenings we took a taxi to Nissi Avenue (10 minute drive) and spent time in the Gardens Restaurant and bar where we know many of the staff. The food there is excellent. Beware of the rip-off taxi drivers though. They seem to charge between 8 and 10 euros wherever you go!! We often bartered with them and sometimes got the price down to 6 euros. They really are a greedy breed and not doing themselves any favours. They wonder why the buses are doing a roaring trade (one euro each). We did wait for the bus one evening; however, their timings are quite sporadic and when one did eventually come along, it was so packed it went straight past us!

As we were repeat guests at the hotel, we were invited to a ‘repeaters lunch’ the day before we left. We thought this was a really nice gesture and, again, we were made to feel very welcome!

We had glorious sunshine the whole 8 nights we were in Cyprus; the humidity did become a bit unbearable at times and the air con in the hotel was a welcome relief!

There are many bars and restaurants just outside of the hotel but it is situated far enough away from all the hustle and bustle of the busy nightlife down in the Square!

What really makes this hotel so special, is the little extras they provide, such as cold flannels and drinks on arrival, freezing cold flannels mid morning by the pool and slices of melon, and chocolates on the pillows at night!

To sum up, we had another wonderful time at the Alion and a special mention must go to Yiannis, Christos, Zenos and Klaudia who were just so friendly towards us. They really did ensure that we had a fantastic and memorable stay and really made us feel at home!

We have already booked to go back to the Alion in October and cannot wait. We managed to book a sea view room, and this really will be the icing on the cake!!!

Well done to all the team at the Alion - thank you for another brilliant holiday!

Room Tip: If you can afford it, opt for a Sea View Room

That will be one of my shortest review.
Very very good, pleasant and nice little 5*stars hotel with highest level of service. All for you - every your desire taken by personal of the Alion.
Food was perfect, rooms clean and well equipped for Cyprus. All things are new - no needs for renovation.

I could recommend this hotel to every body who wants maximum quality for reasonable money.

Room Tip: Try Sea view rooms higher than 2nd floor - any rooms are OK

My wife and I have just returned from our 8th visit to the Alion this might be a clue to what I,m about to write in my review. When I book a 5* hotel I expect good food, nice surroundings, pleasant gardens and good facilities which the Alion has, where the Alion is head and shoulders above the rest is the personal service you receive from the manager and all the members of his team. Walking up to reception after a days travelling you are met with a warm smile from George at the desk and a friendly greeting, a complementary cold drink and towel, a look look round the corner into the bar and more greetings and smiles from the team It,s truly like going to visit family, all ready planning our visit for 2013

Room Tip: sea view rooms are the ones to go for

Alion this year celebrates its 20th birthday (opened in April 1992). With more than 32% repeat guests ( repeat guest is considered somenone as from his second visit) and team members with 15 - 20 years service at the Alion you feel more than coming home than going on holidays abroad!
Thanking you once again we look forward to welcoming you back for your 9th " Alion holiday experience"

We decided on a holiday at the Alion Beach Hotel after reading the good reports on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. We chose a sea view room and it really was worth the extra cost. There is not one negative thing that can be said about the Alion. The number of returning guests each year is proof of the hotel's popularity. The system of keeping the same shade and sunbeds in the garden for the duration of your holiday works very well. This stops all the 6 am towels on beds people. Since arriving home we have already tried to rebook for later this year but have been unsuccessful. A big thank you to the manager and all the staff at the Alion.

Room Tip: Ensure you choose a sea view room. The views are wonderful.

We've just returned from a ten day stay at the Alion Beach Hotel and I can;t recommend it highly enough! The hotel is crisp, clean and modern with all the usual facilities you'd expect from a 5 star hotel - gym, squash court, spa etc. We travelled with our 4 year old daughter - who simply LOVED it, especially the pool, which is so lovely and warm. The rooms are not huge but are a comfortable size for the amount of time you want to spend in them (and we had an extra single bed for our daughter!). We stayed on a half board basis and the food was simply divine - loads of choice both at breakfast and dinner - we certainly didn't go hungry! I can see why this hotel is rated 5 star but to be honest, it's worth more stars simply because of the people who work there. The staff are more friendly and helpful than I've ever known in a hotel. The hotel manager, Panicos Michael introduces himself personally to everyone and makes you feel very welcome indeed. The rest of the staff are all obviously very happy working there and it makes a real difference to the level of customer service they give. A particular mention should go to Yannis and Klaudia in the hotel bar, Maria in the restaurant and Soulas at the pool bar - you all made our stay particularly special and completely spoiled our little girl - thank you all so much! Needless to say, we will definitely be coming back to the Alion Beach Hotel next year!

We attended a family wedding at this hotel, and would recomend this hotel to others. The only downside is there is not a lot for very little ones to do, (perhaps a few baby toys in the games room would be nice) also as we did not upgrade to a sea view - we found the traffic noise from the road a little intrusive sometimes.
The rooms were spotless, and all the staff brilliant. Breakfast selections were excellant. Location was very good, just far enough away from the noise and bustle of the town. We had a lovely week at this hotel, and the manager is one of the best I have ever seen because of his dedication to making sure the hotel runs like clockwork and he is often seen around checking things are top class, and talking to the guests.
Yes, we would come back, but just as a couple next time, and pay the extra for the sea view.

Room Tip: It must be worth the extra money to have a sea view, and less traffic noise.

Thank you very much for sharing your "Alion beach holiday experience" on trip advisor! "Delighting every guest with many memorable experiences" is our goal and we look for every posible opportunity to do this. Our motto is very simple "We do not have customers but only guests" and a very basic lesson I have learned is always to walk your talk. A rule that every team member adopted.
Thanking you once again for your excellent review we all look forward to welcoming you back before not too long.

To begin with, my Wife and I would like to thank the manager of the hotel Panicos Michael for his assistance and hospitality in what turned out to be the best two weeks of our life together.

On the 11th of May 2012 we had our wedding at the Alion Beach Hotel which we will never forget. The organisation, headed by Panicos and assisted by Thomson’s wedding coordinator Amy, was at the highest level, as result of their dedication our day was perfect not only for my Wife and I, but for the wedding party as a whole. I can promise that if you decide to choose this hotel as your wedding venue, you will never regret it.

Secondly I want to express my appreciation to the staff of the hotel, who answered even the smallest question and assisted with our every request. We were surrounded by care and love and from the minute we arrived were made to feel at home.

We were amazed by not only the selection of the food on offer but by the culinary perfection that was served to us on a daily basis. I can honestly say we have never experienced such joy whilst eating, truly 5 stars.

I would be more than happy to return to the Alion Beach Hotel and would recommend this to any couple looking for an amazing experience in what is a beautiful country.
Once again I want to say thanks for all you did for us. Thank Panicos, thanks to staff, thanks to Alion.
