I got married at the Grecian Sands Hotel on the 17th of May 2010.The venue was perfect and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and the honeymoon suite was amazing. We stayed bed and breakfast and the breakfast was great.Plenty of choice. The hotel was clean and the beds were very comfortable.I can not reccommend this venue more highly and would love to go back and do it all again. I would reccommend the sea view option as it was nice to have a view but the side view rooms were equally as nice. Rooms were cleaned daily. My only criticism was that the ice lollies were quite expensive ! other than that the hotel is perfect.

We stayed at this hotel for our wedding in June. We have stayed here before and so knew what to expect. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and i would highly recommend it for anyone thinking of getting married here. We got married on the seaview deck which looks over the sea and is in a quiet corner of the hotel away from holiday makers, although they do come and watch all the weddings but to be honest you don't notice they are there and they are not intrusive at all. Liza the wedding co-ordinator is excellent and very professional, she is friendly and puts you at ease straight away. We didn't book our wedding through a holiday company but did it independently through the hotel and to be honest i would recommend this as it cuts down on unnecessary expense and you get stuff sorted quickly and not over a long period of your holiday like you do with the companies (my nephew did it this way and spent most of his holiday running around). There is a broad choice of rooms and venues for your ceremony and reception and i would highly recommend having your reception in the hotel. We booked a family room and were not upgraded as promised, but we didn't mind as we had a large room anyway. One downside was we were not recognised straight away as a wedding couple at check in as were another couple with not going through a company so had to ask for the complimentary flowers, wine, fruit etc. which should have been in our room upon arrival and we never did get the honeymoon gift, but this didn't bother us as we had had a fantastic wedding and already been upgraded to the roof terrace for our champagne reception and nibbles due to a clash with another wedding and also we got the wonderful room 439 for our wedding night, so we are not complaining and feel we were treated excellently. (room 439 is fab, we got upgraded last time we visited and got put in this room so were spoilt really, if you get the chance to have it do it you wont be disappointed). Overall the hotel and setting is absolutely fab for your wedding and we are missing it already. THe hotel has it's own private sandy sun bathing area which is great as well as the vast pool area. THe staff are friendly and Angelina the hairdresser is excellent, so much so that i am now sporting the hairstyle she did for my big day, also Hannah who did our make up is so professional and doesn't make you look like a doll and the make up lasted all day even though i was sweating that much and wiping my face every 5 mins it still remained in tact. We had a candlelit meal in the restaurant and it was lovely, in fact the steak was the best cooked steak i have had so far in my numerous visits to cyprus. We used Photopia photographers and i would highly recommend Stelios and his team, they are so fantastic and know exactly how to get the best out of you. Our photos are so lovely and we had such a difficult time choosing that in the end we upgraded and had the lot. We are already planning our return next year to celebrate our 1st anniversary and hope to continue spending many happy years in cyprus. The Grecian Sands Hotel in my opinion is the best hotel and best setting you could choose for your wedding, i have no hesitation in highly recommending it to anyone.

Just returned from a two week stay at GS. which included our Daughters wedding. The day went perfect, and with the help of Liza the hotel Wedding Coordinator everything went smooth and to plan. George and Alex the photographers were very good, and with a party of over 50 guests covered all our photographic requirements efficiently. Our Daughter and Son-in-law went for the Bar-B-Q option for the wedding meal, and the food was excellent.
The venue itself is ideal for a wedding, but the hotel needs a serious refurbishment which was even agreed by the First Choice rep. The pool area and gardens are kept in good order, and the cleaners are very good, but the hotel carpets are shabby, paintwork scruffy, and the bar area is very dated with no atmosphere.
If you've booked to stay at the hotel and paid for an upgrade i recommend you check the specifics, as we paid 336 GBP for an upgrade when others in our party had identical rooms for the same money. We finally got moved a few days into the trip after complaining, but the first response of "its pure luck which room you get" was totally unacceptable! Be careful with the lifts; as when they "are" working they are not particularly safe.
We had a great holiday, but unfortunately would not recommend this hotel in its present condition.

If you are planning on getting married abroad then this hotel is fab. We booked the decking area which over looks the sea, this was amazing and a good background for the photos. The pool is nice, easy access to the beach but a 15min walk to main shops and bars. Very dissapointed with the food. We paid for half board and ended up eating out most evenings. The evening meal is Ala Carte only. If you do not like the only 2 main options then you either starve or eat else where like we did, and Cyprus is not cheap! There should be another option for meals, one room for buffett and one for Ala Carte. Our room was cleaned every day apart from the floor and we had a nice room which I think we only had due to the wedding package. My parents stayed here as well and paid alot of money and their room was not the best. Overall this hotel is great for a wedding, but not much else. Also the hotel will charge you £400 if you do not have the reception at the hotel. Drinks in the bar are quite expensive as well. If we decided to go back to Cyprus we would not stay here again.

We went to Grecian sands hotel for 2 weeks for my step-son's wedding the hotel done us proud, the staff were brilliant and hotel was very clean the only down fall was we went B&B so we had to eat out every night we could have gone H/B or F/B but I did'nt know till we arrived, the outside pool is very clean and there is a path to a private beach. We found a couple out there called Julie and Jon from Cornwall who own and run The Pastry Mine which do all kinds of Cornish pasties. There is so many resturants in Ayia Napa to eat out too many to name you would have to look about for the cheapest. If you take a trip to Nicosia take your pastport to go to the Turkish side, The Troodos Mountains was good but you need a car but be warned a lot of driving and hot.

We are one of the many repeaters who meet every year at this hotel in September. Lovely hotel, fantastic views of the beach. Staff are second to none, nothing is a problem. Management are probably the best in Ayia Napa . We will be there again for our 10th or more visit in September along with the Duffys, the McCaffertys, Dagmar, Ruth, Barbara, Val,Uncle Tom Cobbley and all. A lot of mileage between us. Some have been going since the hotel opened. Our little bit of paradise.

ok the hotel all in all is not bad it's clean and decent but that's about it. For a 4 stars hotel the furniture is faded and old and the breakfast was very rudimentary + it's a bit far from the center of the town if u plan to go there on foot. The pool is quite nice but no fun there it was too quite for my taste and the sea was far to reach. In my opinion it should not be more than 3 stars rated.
