“Noisy hotel and poor location”
Reviewed 29 August 2012

We had to stay one night in this hotel, could not get any sleep because of the noise. There is a lot of young guests partying and the music from the hotel bar is very loud. The rooms are not very clean, and you will have to pay 6,5 euro/day for air condition. Reception staff is friendly, but the location is far away from the beach and city center. We had no breakfast included, had to pay 4,80 euro+1,20 euro for one cup of juice (british breakfast only/no continental version). The beds are very hard, wireless internet connection does not work in the room areas. No elevators, the pool area is too small and not enough sunbeds for everyone.

Me and my 3 friends (girls) arrived here on the 8th of August and were suprised at how spacious, clean and modern the rooms were.

We had a 1 bedroom apartment... 2 of the girls stayed in the bedroom with a double bed and the others had 2 single beds in the open plan lounge/kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped if you plan on making food in your room! Clean kettle and toaster :) pot noodle lovers stock up!
The bathroom was spacious and the showers were always hot but to be honest it was way to hot to want a hot shower!
The aircon was 6.50 a night which we found expensive and didn't find it made a difference (we were in room 9) although people we made friends with had paid for the aircon and their rooms were FREEZING which is what you need in that sort of heat!

The pool was small but didn't get busy until 12.30pm onwards. Music was on during the day, the pool area was chilled and it was relaxing (no pool parties) which we liked as we wanted to lay there and catch up on missed out sleep and sunbathe! The pool bar did serve food and drinks which wasn't the cheapest but if you walk 5 minutes down the road you will find plenty of resturants that serve food at a better price.

The reception were overall friendly. We made good friends with the night time reception man named LAZ who i called BAZ for some reason?! He was so friendly and we had a chat with him most nights we came back from a night out. He was always happy to let us into our room if the other girls had gone home early! His card tricks were the best haha! WE LOVE YOU BAZ.

Location is great. Close to the strip/square but far away enough to not be able to hear the noise and music.

The hotel offers FREE WI-FI if you like to keep up with the goings on back at home... all you have to do is ask for the password at reception.

Recommend you stay at this hotel. Don't stay at River Reggae (dump) lol! If i ever go to Ayia Napa again i would defo stay at Petrosana!

We knew Cyprus would be superhot in august, but up to 40 degrees is hard for a scandinavian. Nice then with a tidy and nice hotel, with friendly atmosphere and very serviceminded staff. A little to small pool and a loooong way to the beach was a little disappointing. Likeways heavy traffic and loud music form bars on the other side of neighbourhood. Roomy apartment and up-dated equipped. All together a nice stay for my son and me.

Room Tip: Select a room as far form the poolbar as possible.

Clean enough, roomy and everything worked properly. Pool small but nice. Reception staff and cleaning lady friendly and helpful. Bar staff looked a bit bored and grumpy, not enough to do..? Located a bit too far away from everything. The next time I will be staying right by the beach.

Myself and 2 mates stayed here in late July and got exactly what we expected. A week of debauchery. The hotel staff are very very friendly and if anything add to the banter, we affectionately named the receptionist 'Vodka'. The hotel itself was good but the pool did get slightly busy in mid afternoon, this could be avoided by going to nissi beach which is €8 in a cab. I would recommend renting mopeds which over a week works out cheaper than getting taxis (I would avoid trying to get air on your moped as crashing isn't fun, trust me) The hotel is roughly a 10min walk from the centre of the night life, you really wouldn't want to be any closer. All in all a great place and hotel and would recommend it to anyone who likes a good time.

Me and my friend stayed at the Petrosana and were initially very impressed with the apartment facilities however it wasn't until one fateful night that we invited two shapely girls back to the apartment for a friendly game of hide and seek, as you do, that we discovered the bedroom fittings were not as secure as anticipated. One of the girls decided to hide in the wall mounted wardrobe in the bedroom while my friend hid underneath said wardrobe. I am sure you can guess what happened next but needless to say the wardrobe's structural integrity was called into question and subsequently found wanting. The wardrobe came clean off the wall and landed on top of my friend, with the girl inside adding insult to serious back injury. After a feeble attemp to put right the carnage of the bedroom we decided to confess all to the hotel manager albeit with some artistic licensing to our story for in this case the truth was much stranger than fiction. This lead to a very icy reception from the rather attractive when angry hotel manageress who initially attempted to resolve the situation by replacing the shelf that had fallen down inside the wardrobe without fully realising that the wardrobe had been parted from the wall. Anyway after some elaborate storytelling, puppydog faces and a one man oscar worthy reenactment of the event courtesy of my friend the damage was repaired and we were not charged. In all truth I think we should have been comended for highlighting some serious inadequacies with the stability of the apartment furnature when placed under strain. Hide and seekers everywhere can thank us for reinforced wardrobe mounts. We are now all free to hide without the constant fear of unsafe or dismounting furnature. The hotel were very lovely about the whole situation and have agreed to play host to the now annual Ayia Napa hide and seek championships 2013. See you next year, if you can find me that is, I'll be in the wardrobe.

On a totally unrelated note check out the Reggae bar accross the street from the hotel they do a mean Pina Colada!

Room Tip: Climb in the wardrobes and test them out first.

I traveled to petrosana apartments with 5 friends, us all being girls between the age of 20-23. When we arrived at midnight on our first evening, exhausted from our journey, we were told that our rooms were not even ready! The apartments did pay for our taxis and rooms in another (much nicer) hotel, which was nice of them but was just an inconvenience for us as we couldn't settle in.
Once our rooms were ready we were told that we had to pay 6.50 for our air-con, per room? so if we wanted all our air-con units on it would cost us 130 euros for the whole 10 days we were there! Even though one of our air con units blew out luke-warm air, we were not offered or allowed any type of refund even though we were all feeling ill from the heat of our room. Reception said that our air-con had been fixed by maintenance but it made no difference and once again we wasted 6.50 euros on another hot evening.
We found that some staff were very rude to us, although a lady at reception with blondish hair is lovely, we always went to reception when she was there as she delt with any problems we had very professionally and friendly.
On our third night, unfortunately one of my party had 600 euros and a blackberry stolen from her room. The apartments did contact the police, but the room was completely locked, every window and door was shut and double checked that it was locked. Somehow someone between the times of midnight and 5am had got into our apartment without any force and stolen the money. After this night we didn't feel very safe in the apartments and always left a chair in front of the front door as we were that worried that someone was going round with a key for rooms! Whilst there we heard that the guys next to us had their ipod and speakers stolen and someone had put superglue in their keyhole.
Despite this the area is great and any other hotel or apartments near by i would recommend as it's right by the strip and not that far cab drive from the beach.

Room Tip: Bring your own safe and burglar alarm!
