“Would Definately Stay There Again”
Reviewed 30 September 2008

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here at the start of September and picked this hotel from the reviews on Tripadvisor. We arrived late at night, our check in went smoothly, our bags brought to the room which was nice. We booked the Superior pool view room even thought it just barely got a view of the pool, but really didnt matter as how much viewing of the pool can you do on a holiday?!! Bed was comfy and bathroom was standard. Room was cleaned everyday which I liked. We got a plate of fruit and a bottle of red wine which we asked to change for white and was no problem at all. Breakfast was fine, lots of choice but make sure to be up before 10. I would recommend half board as there was lots of nice restuarants around the resort which were reasonably priced.
Ayia Napa was really nice aswell, we hired a car for two days from the car rental place to the right as you come out of the hotel, 80euro for two days which wasnt too bad. We also rented quads for the last two days of the holiday which i preferred as they're much handier when shopping! I wouldn't recommend doing the motor safari as they take you on a trail that last bout half a day, much better to rent them out for the day yourself and go where you like. Just make sure you bring your full licence or some places accept just the number off it if you forget it.
I would have to say if i am ever going back to Ayia Napa I would definately stay at the Napa Plaza, perfect location and excellent accommodation considering the amount of time you spend in your room anyway!

Me & my partner have just returned from a weeks stay at the Napa Plaza. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by the friendly, happy receptionists, within minutes a porter arrived to take us to the room. What a fantastic start!! The hotel room was very impressive. Very clean & a nice modern feel to it. The bathroom was spotless & again very modern. We had bed & breakfast, which was great as it enabled us to visit the lovely restaurants throughout Ayia Napa. Breakfast was fantastic, couldn't fault it at all. There was so much to choose from & it was also nice to wake up in the morning & actually look forward to your breakfast! The pool area was very relaxing, no children at the hotel just couples, which made lying by the pool more enjoyable. The Pepper Bar was a lovely start to your evening, it had a really nice chilled atmosphere & served some really nice cocktails. Having read through some of the other comments on this hotel, i'm really shocked to find out how fussy people can be. I can't believe that people moan about the complimentry bottle of wine & fruit that is in your room for arrival..... " Its complimenty & you dont get that is 5 stars hotels in this country"!!! At least this hotel is trying! Me & my partner have stayed in some 5 star hotels around the world & most of the time you are welcomed by receptionists that come across very stuck up & almost look down at you. Overall we can not fault this hotel & YES we will definately be staying at this hotel in the future. As for Ayia Napa, there is something for everyone. The restaurants are all very nice....especially "Clarabels", which is just over the road from the Napa Plaza. The nightlife caters for all ages & the locals are all very friendly. A big thank you to the Napa Plaza for a fantastic holiday!!!!!!

We spent two nights in Napa Plaza during a two-week visit to Cyprus. I'm afraid Napa Plaza was our least favourite, although I feel a bit bad saying that, because I'm not sure that there was anything actually wrong with it, it was just nothingy. They left us a fruit platter (which looks somewhat less glamorous covered in clingfilm) and a bottle of wine (which seems somewhat less generous when you taste it). For a reason I will never understand, guests are not trusted with the responsibility of a TV remote control - you have to pay a 10 euro deposit for that priviledge.

The breakfast was a chaotic free for all, there is everthing you could possibly think of but nothing that we really fancied. The corridors are incredibly dark and depressing, but the room itself was nice, especially the bathroom. We were impressed with the sound-proofing as we weren't disturbed by our neighbours and it is in a very central location, midway between the beaches and the central bars and clubs.

Me and my boyrfiend spent 10 days in this hotel and we both really enjoyed it. Some websites sayt that this is a 3 star hotel, others say its a 4 star. It is actually a 3 star hotel - as I was told by one of the receptionists. But I must say it is as good as any 4 star.
Breakfast was awesome, with a wide sselection to chose from. From a cooked english bfast, cereals, fresh fruit, cakesand buscuits, jams, croissants and so on. The only downside here was that the orange juice was processed and not fresh. (but then again... its like this in the majority of hotels)

We had the superior room with a balcony. The room wasnt that big but it is good enough if you will be spending a lot of time out. Free use of fridge in the room. Had to pay 2euros per dayfor the use of the safe. The room was kept very clean by the friendly maids, who always made sure they were wearing a smile :)

We were also given a complimentary big bottle of red wine and a nice fruit platter on arrival - really appreciated it!

If you are visiting cyprus I recommend you hire a car jsut as you arrive - at the airport (open 24hrs) because the transport system isnt quite reliable. Plus cars here drive on the left (british system, so its easy). Napa plaza hotel will always have a free car parking place for its residents - which is great.

Last but not least the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful (reception, bar, restaurant, maids, etc..) and I hope i will havet he opportunity to visit Ayia Napa again.... Where I will surely be staying at the Napa Plaza hotel again :)) Enjoy your holidays!!!!

I am really shocked to read other reviews on this hotel - it just doesn't add up as our holiday was fantastic and yes, this is one of the best hotels in Ayia Napa!
This is our 2nd visit to this hotel - we came before when it was a 3 star in 2007 and it is still just as great - actually its more than great.
The hotel is classy and chic and unique - we even looked and nosed around other hotels and pools and nothing toped this (apart from Atlantica Aneas where we went last year - that pool it amazing but is totally different to Plaza) Me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our hotel - yes, there were a few marks on the carpet but its practically a cream carpet so u can imagine people walking back to their rooms with wet feet and it leaving a stain but whos to blame for that. We booked a superior pool view and the room was great- the size was a good size, fruit and wine on arrival and nice decor. The drinks were a bit expensive but hey, we are on holiday and having fun - if u think they are too much, go and but a can of coke from the shop or stock up ur fridge! I saw 3 weddings whilst we ware there and they were lovely! We watched them set up and work on the outside terrace all day to make it beautiful for the bride!
The pool was fab and yes there were a FEW children when we were there but they were part of a wedding party and mostly over the age of 10-12. I dont mind anyway, love kids.
We went bed and breakfast and the breakfast was fine although i always used to have beans on toast or coissants.
The staff were fun, although I would of liked some games or quizzes in the day jsut to break the day up!
Restaurants - If your looking to go for a typical Cypriot meal - it has to be Tony's Tavana - I know sounds slightly English but its far from it. Its on Nissi Avenue and does the best Meze in the resort. Esperia and Vasso are two Fish Tavanas which are lovely, and right on the habour. Fiji, Clarabels and Quadro are a must! for a lovely Thai, go to Yo Thai or Mai Thai - divine! Centro Restuarant on Nissi Avenue is also a fantastic restaurant - staff and food are wonderful!

Bars - Our faves were Peppers (at the front of Napa Plaza), Liquid, Ambassenden Bar, Napa Dreams, Titanic, Bedrock and Aruba!

Also, go to the waterpark, its FUN!!!
Finally, yes, Cyprus is not as cheap as Spain, but you need to search for the restuarants that dont rip you off! All of the ones I have mentioned are fab and in some cases you pay more for fresher food (e.g. by the habour for fish).

I love Ayia Napa and its a must for all - couples, families, and friends.

This is not what i would call a 4star hotel. Stained carpets throughout the hallways and although they reckoned our room was a superior it was very small. As for the cardboard slippers only any use if you have huge feet, same with the cardboard robes only come in large and extra large.

As for the breakfast everything is cooked and then left over hot water to keep it hot after 2 days we decided to eat breakfast out, we had booked the flexidine for 7 out of our 14 nights but it was the same with this meal all kept hot with hot water and not a lot to choose from , after the 2nd time of trying the evening meal where they had barbecued the food at 4pm then kept it warm til 7pm we complained to rep who refunded money for other nights.
Room was cleaned every day but very basically lots of bits still left on floor and balcony not cleaned once while we were there.

As for the sophisticated cocktail bar this was just a little place at the front with plastic seats and plastic blocks as tables and very over priced drinks, as for the drinks around the pool these were the most expensive in aiya napa.

Although we had booked this as it said adults only this is not true as both of our weeks there were kids in the pool and running around screaming as kids do. Would go to aiya napa again but would never stay here again.

Dont get married here my daughter did .The both of them came early as you must be in the country for at least five days before the wedding they came nine days before. The night before the wedding we were out for a meal and the groom had a phone call from the hotel to say they had forms to fill out and needed to get details from bridesmaid and best man along with some other details the groom had to leave his meal to look for the people , the forms had to be on the wedding planners desk for seven in the morning so the wedding planner could deal with them .The groom went to stay with his future father in law and i stayed in the napa plaza with my daughter .in the morning we went for breakfast and then another bombshell they needed more forms and had to take them to the court and then to the post office to say they had never been married before {so much for not seeing the groom before the wedding}. Everything was running late after being in the country for nine days the hairdresser was sitting in the room waiting to do the brides hair there wasnt room for anyone to change their clothes my daughter ,my husband ,two bridesmaids ,the future mother in law ,and myself in a room that was so small we had to climb over the bed to get to the bathroom or to get to your dress then someone came and told us the registrar was leaving as he had another wedding we were anything but ready .The ceromony was rushed through ,then the same area had to be fixed ready for the meal the food was very good but the area which we were told would be covered in as the sun was so hot but the top table had no covering to your back so they brought some large umbrellas but myself and the grooms father had a net curtain blowing over us all the time at dinner even though they seen it they did nothing after been told they still done nothing .After the cake was cut by the bride and groom the staff had to be asked three times to give everyone a bit of cake by the time they had put the cake out most people had left to go for drinks but we didnt see any cake or the rest of the tiers .The d j had set up for the evening but didnt come back so no music . We found out the next day the wedding co ordinator had never planned a wedding before she was new.the next day the manager asked to see my son in law and apologized and gave us the money back for the d j .we werent able to see him as my husband wasnt well and i couldnt leave him but if the manager of the napa plaza reads this i hope he gets in touch because he ruined my daughters wedding and i am not pleased I know about other weddings in ayia napa and they went very well so dont let this letter put you off just have it somewhere else. For a holiday all the people that stayed in this hotel said they had a good time

NapaPlaza, Public Relations Manager at Napa Plaza Hotel, responded to this review, 5 September 2008
There have been some regretful and unfortunate happenings before and during the wedding hosted in our hotel.
Admittedly there was a delay in getting the paperwork ready for the ceremony, for which we apologised to the parties. The delay however for the actual ceremony was due to a misfortunate accident with bridesmaid dress and the registrant had to rush as he was scheduled to attend a next ceremony.
The bedrooms at Napa Plaza hotel can accommodate up to 2 people, it is therefore not big enough for 4-8 people to dress and prepare. We have decided to offer from now on a courtesy room dedicated for dressing of the bride or invited guests before the wedding.
Apparently the choice of venue was not weather conform, but it was guests wish not to use the indoors air-conditioned venue and go for outdoors in the middle of a heat wave. Better care will be taken from now on when proposing a wedding venue.
The wedding entertainment was delayed due to an accident involving the DJ booked for the event and it was the decision of the guests to leave the venue, it was shortly after when the DJ arrived. The full entertainment expense was fully refunded. Our contract with the above entertainer is already cancelled and will not be used in the future.
We regret the fact that the bride’s mother left our hotel with the impression that her daughter’s wedding “was ruined”. We, of course, have taken measures to improve our wedding package (i.e. courtesy room, better choice of venues etc.) We still consider ourselves competent to organise memorable weddings in a fantastic atmosphere.
