“fantastic holiday especially with kids”
Reviewed 14 June 2010

We travelled to Nissi beach to attend a wedding and chose to stay here because of kids club. It is fantastic. The place is small enough to remain personal unlike other all inclusive complexes, the staff are extremely attentive, friendly and most of all offer a quality service to all guests. The accomodation is great, a usual self catering apartment which is on the whole is unecessary as is all inclusive. The entertainment is provided by one singular guy so again it feels personal and if youwant to remain on the sun lounger and not join in it is no hassle. the place is well located to the beach and to ayia nappa itself and is also central to any wedding that you may go to on Nissi beach. My only quibble was the apalling flight times but that is the tour operators fault not the hotels, that said had we not had to attend a wedding I would not choose to go there simply because of the rubbish middle of the night flights. I thoroughly recommend it to everyone with or without families, however you may find the entertainment in the evening a bit cheesy if you don't have kids but with a few cocktails in you, you may enjoy it!!

I have just returned from 1 week's stay at the Tasia Maris Garden Apartments, Aiya Napa, Cyprus (23rd May – 30th May 2010). I have booked holiday’s through Thomson's for a few years now and have always found their recommendations of hotels excellent. However, on this occasion we were severely disappointed. I was travelling with my husband and paid a small fortune to stay in these fully inclusive apartments. If we had paid half of what we did I would have expected what we got. It was not worth the money we paid. We were staying there along with another 3 groups of friends/relatives for a family wedding (which was fortunately located at another hotel). Within our group there were 4 children ranging in ages from 3 to 13.
There were 12 of us in total at this accommodation.
We were informed this was 4 star/4 star plus accommodation & it was definitely no where near that. I would guess it should bracket about 3 star.
On arrival the pool area was disapointing for the adults in our group. The Thomsons brochure was completely misleading, the pool area was actually at least 3 times smaller than it appeared in the brochure. The pool should not be recommended to any adults, this was a kids only pool overtaken by inflatable’s / toys & kids. There was no swimming area.
The apartments in Thomsons brochure were advertised as lovely little apartments 1 up, 1 down. However, they stuck my husband and I in apartment blocks up above the bar and kitchens. Our balcony was stone so you could only enjoy a half pool view if we stood up. The noise in our room was unbelievable, the door rattled 24/7, the walk to our apartments had a constant droning noise like you were about to board a ship & there was a noise in our headboard which went on 24/7 that sounded like electricity surging.
The bed mattresses were so hard each of us suffered from back problems & sleep deprivation.
The kids beds were sofa beds in the living room, they may as well have slept on the floor they were that hard. One of the children in our group suffered from back problems during this holiday.
We were not informed that the fully inclusive package run out at 11pm every night. After 11pm we had to pay for drinks at the bar.
The entertainment at the hotel was diabolical, it consisted of : building paper aeroplanes / a magician act for kids / poor set up karaoke / quiz every single night. My family had to suffer the same entertainment the second week which was a repeat from the first week.
This accommodation should only be recommended to families who have children under 10 years old.
We did not get any water/soft drinks/alcoholic drinks provided in the fridge in any of our rooms. So, we had to still go shopping at the supermarket to buy some water/juice for our fridge.
I would have reported the above to the rep but as we had other family staying in different apartments I was able to have a look at theirs and they seemed little if any better than ours.
The lunch time menu was great, but the evening buffet was poor, it was repetitive & the food was cold by the time we got it to our tables. We dined at plastic table and chairs every night.
The staff were amazing and very friendly but the accommodation did not live up to any of our expectations judging on what each of us paid for it.
My husband & I spent more than £800 in a week on eating & drinking away from our apartments just to get away from it. After paying for an all inclusive rate this was shocking.
I have reported this to Thomsons and I am awaiting the outcome.

This hotel is fantastic, the service is excellent and food very good!
I have previously visited larger All Inclusive hotels which i thought were great at the time, but this smaller one was far superior. If you are looking for spacious rooms, near a gorgeous beach and great food and service, then this hotel is excellent.
The pool has lovely palm trees and umbrellas to keep under the shade of the mid day sun.
I noticed someone comented stating a lot of children, i was travelled as a party of adults and we never forund this a problem whatsoever, i must have been there at the same time, all the children were very polite and well mannered. It does state in the brochure it is a family hotel. I will be returning next year after an excellent holiday.

We arrived at 1am and we were amazed at how big the apartment was and how much was in it! A little cooker, all utensiles a big kitchen. All this is just a stones throw from the pool..
The food is excellent. So much choice. They cater for everyone. The rooms are cleaned daily and the place is kept clean.
On the downside we were there for 10 days and got sick of bingo, quizzes or karoke every other night. The only break being mr and mrs, a parrot show and a magician who is so boring and doesnt realise his tricks are out of date.
The only gripe I had was that you could hear the music / crooning from the local hotel till 11.45pm and when you are trying to get kids to sleep its not funny. This did stop after a few days and a few people complaining.
The pool is a figure of eight, but you need to be up early to get a sun lounger.
The beaches are close and worth a visit despite the sea being cluttered with rubbish (sad really as its such a nice place). If we went again we would definetly hire a car to see more of the island.
There are loads of shops nearby to buy nooks and crannies.
There is a shop by the harbour that sells ice cream and frozen yoghurt which he then mixes with fruit you selected from his stall. It tastes devine (began with a P)
I loved the staff, the food, the cleanliness and atmosphere. I would recommend this hotel.
Not much to entertain 14year olds as they are too young to go to bars and too old for shows.

This was our third time to Cyprus and has been the best. We arrived midnight and was escorted to our room. The rooms are very spacious which is great with 2 young children. There was a large bed in the bedroom (with a hairdryer so no need to take one), a bed made up in the living room for our toddler and a travel cot for our 10 month old. The kitchen has everything you need which is surpsrising for all inclusive but helpful when making up bottles for the little one. We had room 4a which was in a great spot with a lovely patio area and a few steps from the pool. The pool was cold at first but i'm happy to report that it was warm when we left on 31st May.

The food was lovely, large selection. I was worried about food for the children but they loved it. The staff are very friendly and great to have around. Nigel was always there in a morning with a smile, the highchair ready and chocolate sauce for my croissants, mmm! Also Sacho was very nice, my son Max made a friend instantly. Everyone was lovely and couldn't do enough.

The beach is a short walk away and is beautiful and quiet. You can walk along the pathway to Nissi Beach which looks just as nice as the Caribbean beaches and sea. Very calm and warm sea but does get very busy. The main town of Ayia Napa is about 20 mins walk away, there is plenty to do.

All in all, we really enjoyed the holiday and met some lovely people. I would definately recommend this hotel, especially if you have children. We will certainly be returning soon. Miss it already!

we booked to stay at the tasia maris gardens due to the good reviews we have seen on here it was our first holiday in 4 years due to new arrivals (2 kids) and opening up a new business. the apartments were nice the area was good everything was great till the last day when i returned the keys to the receptionist who then told me about some apparent damage to a bedroom door which we had done and had to pay 80 euro's i explained to the management that it was impossiple for any of us to do this damage the door had 2 splits appear on it 1 was about 30" high and the other about 55" high, the amount of times i stressed to them that a 3 year old & a 16 month old couldn't have done that and i know that me or the wife never did it, but yet again it fell on deaf ears we then had to scrape together the 80 euros as we had hardly no money which we told them about but were then told that they could keep us in cyprus which is bordering on kidnap the whole incident has left a very unpleasant memory from which was a great holiday. i will be also complaining to thomson's about this. i must point out though apart from the management & rep the other staff were fantastic specially the kids club reps sam & jade

My partner and I have just returned from a 10 days holiday at the Tasia Maris Gardens. Don’t get me wrong, we did enjoy it, but on 4th day there was a rather large influx of couples with children, one couple had 8 children it was just unfortunate for us, but these things happen and is not a fault of the hotel. We found the entertainment was geared towards the children which is obviously great if you have a family, we only saw a magician and a parrot show being advertised. We were lucky to meet another lovely couple and we either sat away from it all, but this did mean sitting adjacent the main busy road or we nipped to the pub next door when we had, had our fill of drinks from the all inclusive menu.
The apartments are of a very high standard, they are large clean and modern, beautifully furnished, comfortable beds, unbelievably clean, we had a lovely patio with comfy chairs, pool is gorgeous and cold as per usual. An yes the beds are hard, but I have a bad back therefore was very grateful!!
ALL the staff are very friendly and helpful from the receptionist to the restaurant staff especially Nigel, Craig and Lakis they made a big difference to the holiday. Georgie the entertainments main man who was very, very welcoming and made you his friend from day one, his brain teasing quizzes kept our minds going, we had fun attempting to complete them, which we did most days and even won the odd one or two. We didn’t have any trouble getting a sunbed, well not in the first 4 days, but after that you had to be up quite early or people would reserve them.
We found it strange that the all inclusive drinks stop at 11.00, which we thought was too early, especially as the bar remains open after this time so you have to pay for any remaining drinks. When we have gone to all inclusive hotels before the bars have stayed open until 12pm.
If you like the beach there is one just a short walk down the quiet road it is like rather small, but has the usual sunlounger and umbrellas, and a short walk from there is the magnificent Nissi Beach and is lovely and has the pelicans on they seem to rule the roost and are fascinating to watch.....
When all said and done this is a nice pleasant complex and may return one day.
