we enjoyed our stay at la piramide, I checked out all of the reviews before I went and decided to give the place the benefit of the doubt and Im really glad I did.
we stayed for 2 weeks all inclusive and okay it wasnt gourmet but for the price I wasnt expecting it anyway.
as it advertises as allinclusive light I knew roughly what not to expect. we used the place as a base for our holiday.. but also spent many a night in the bar having a laugh with the barman.
the staff could not be faulted in any way and went out of their way to help us in any way whenever we needed them.
in all honesty we were not that impressed by the food, but we had our say and our suggestions were taken on board and there were results. We also realised early on that the whole of fuertaventura is badly affected by the current financial crisis, this hotel was not helped by the fact that some guests bailed out as soon as the all inclusive sessions ended... perhaps promotions such as happy hour or buy one get one free on drinks may have enticed them to stay on for a bit... but somehow with some people you just cant please them no matter what you do!
I would definately go back and we plan to take some of our family and friends there in the future. there was a nice atmosphere about the place...OKAY so it wasnt the hilton... but then We didnt expect that for the price of a 2 star stay!
give the place a chance... and constructive criticism is a good thing... that is how we can change things we are not happy with... The piramide welcomes feedback... so take advantage of that!
Good luck to all at La Piramide for the coming months...hope to see you all again soon!

Veronica & Mick
Newark.

We have just got back from La Piramide Apartments, and had a
very pleasant holiday.

The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you considering being short staffed and very hard worked.

The appartment was kept very clean and we had our sheets and towels changed at least three times a week.

The bar was very well stocked with a good choice of drinks, but a little smoky at times, the food could have been a lot better but we didn't starve.

We met a lot of very nice people and had a good laugh so overall for the price we had a good holiday.

very nice

We have been on loads of all inclusive holidays all over Europe and asia and this is by far the BEST one ever, considering the price we were expecting to find one or two problems with accomodation food and drink, but we couldn't fault any of it, the staff were excellant, the accomodation should be upgraded as it was the cleanest and best maintained we have come across, the food was plentiful and varied with 3 main courses to chose from at lunch and dinner, and the drinks available were excellant and very varied, we challenge anyone to find a better value holiday for the price, plus if you like chipmunks, there are plenty to entertain you on the walk to the local beach - and they LOVE peanuts.
We are looking to return asap.

Before we went away we read the reviews on this hotel and were worried to say the least! But we were pleasently suprised! Do not beleive everything you read! We arrived on 22nd of jan and the lady on reception was lovely and told us about the all inclusive and showed us where our rooms were. The rooms are extremely specious, especially just for 2. You have a loving room, bathroom and bedroom. The main thing for me is that the rooms are clean and they were spotless. We went all inclusive so all the local spirits were included and the measures were brilliant, if you do want a bigger measure though just ask !!! The food was basic and not a lot of choice but there was always different dishes and they all tasted absolutly fine!

there have been a few complaints about staff on here but from what we saw they all work very hard! you ill go down for breakfast and they will be clearing the tables and 20 minutes later they will be upstairs at the bar serving the drinks. the 2 reception girls seem to run around doing everything and work really hard to make sure anything you ask for you get!

the only thing i would say about this hotel is that there is not alot around the area to do. a cab into the local town is only 3 euros roughly and there is a lovely mexican in town called mexican corner! there are a few bars about a 5 minute walk from the hotel which are lively kareoke bars if you do fancy a change of scenery we usually went when the all inclusive finished at 10pm, just for a couple! there are also some restaurants near the bars but we never got to go to them.

one thing you have to do is go to a tapas bar in town called la capitan its opposite the hotel barcelo in town and hey do a happy hour on drinks between 8pm and 10.30pm and the food is amazing!

hope this helps and i didnt waffle on....but do not go here if u r used to luxury because yes it is basic but clean, friendly and cheap!!!

oh and take a stroll down the seafront on the cliffs to feed the chipmonks!!! we used to get a paper cup full of cucumber at lunch and take a walk down to feed them!

Right folks.
We have just returned from a week at this hotel. And after reading some of the reviews all i can think of some of the people who wrote them is they they are stuck up snobs who want something for nothing and if they dont get it just seem to complain.
Here is the truth

The food:
A bit basic but fresh hot and tasty. My wife is a food safety expert for a large retail outlet (marks and spencers actualy) and if she says its okay and good enough to eat (as well as being cooked properly, and kept at the right temp) then thats good enough for me.
So those who knocked the food obviously dont know what they are on about as she (the wife) is obviously more than qualified to make a proffessional comment.

The accomadation:
Again very basic but clean

The location:
A bit out of the way, but a lovely 20min walk into town. OR THERE IS A FREE BUS SERVICE!!!
What the hell do people want.

THE STAFF:
Absolutely brilliant: They are under pressure because there are not that many of them, but everyone is very friendly etc. THEY CANT BE FAULTED!!

OVER ALL:
Its cheap and cheerful, and does not crack on to be something its not. we really did enjoy our stay and will def be returning.

I FEEL SO STRONGLY ABOUT THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ABOUT THIS PLAY, AND HOW THE WINGERS WANT TO PAY 2 STAR PRICES AND EXPECT 5 STAR LUXURY THAT ME AND THE WIFE HAVE COMPLIED A "SURVIVING THE PIRAMIDE" FACT SHEET.

After reading the reviews I was a little apprehensive to say the least, however upon arrival I was expecting the worst but I was pleasantly surprised. I have just returned after spending christmas there and would almost certainly return.
The room was basic but clean and tidy.
The food was lovely with plenty of choice, even though I am a vegetarian.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The pool was a little too cold for me but there were plenty of people in there.
The location was a little remote but was a short walk to the nearest town, and the hotel out on a free bus everyday.
What I would say about this hotel is that it is very basic, however it does not promote itself as a luxury 5 star hotel. The only thing that ruined it were a couple of people moaning about the food, although they still sat and ate it so it cant have been as bad as they were making out.
