Located across the road from my hotel (AC Badajoz), on a street packed with restaurants and bars in an area which is just a short taxi drive from the centre of town - it was perfectly adequate for my Sunday lunch.
Relaxed, local atmosphere. No fancy decor but bright, airy dining room with big tables and crisp table cloths. It got full by the time I finished eating. Not cheap for Spanish standards, especially when I was told by the friendly, veteran waiter that the advertised set menu was unavailable - but still, generous portions: my starter salad was so big I couldn't finish it. The main (Lamb chops) was also a good size and everything was well cooked. I asked for a glass of house red to wash it all down but again was told there was no wine by the glass. I was brought instead a small carafe of surprisingly good house red, for which I paid just over 3 euros!
The bill, for two courses, with wine, bread, coffee, water and service, came to just over 20 euros.
